All About Greek Literature

Greek literature, ancient, the writings of the ancient Greeks. The Greek Isles are recognized as the
birthplace of Western intellectual life. A continuous history extending from the 1st millennium BC to the
present day. From the beginning its writers were Greeks living not only in Greece proper but also
in Asia Minor, the Aegean Islands, and Magna Graecia (Sicily and southern Italy). Later, after
the conquests of Alexander the Great, Greek became the common language of the eastern
Mediterranean lands and then of the Byzantine Empire. Literature in Greek was produced not
only over a much wider area but also by those whose mother tongue was not Greek. Even before
the Turkish conquest (1453) the area had begun to shrink again, and now it is chiefly confined to
Greece and Cyprus.` Of the literature of ancient Greece only a relatively small proportion
survives.
Yet it remains important, not only because much of it is of supreme quality but also because until the
mid-19th century the greater part of the literature of the Western world was produced by writers who
were familiar with the Greek tradition, either directly or through the medium of Latin, who were
conscious that the forms they used were mostly of Greek invention, and who took for granted in their
readers some familiarity with Classical literature. The ancient Greeks believed in many gods. These gods
were at the center of Greek mythology—a body of stories about gods and heroes that try to explain how
the world works. Each story, or myth, explained natural or historical events.

on the arts and literature of Western civilization, which fell heir to much of Greek culture. Although
people of all countries, eras, and stages of civilization have developed myths that explain the existence
and workings of natural phenomena, recount the deeds of gods or heroes, or seek to justify social or
political institutions, the myths of the Greeks have remained unrivaled in the Western world as
sources of imaginative and appealing ideas. Poets and artists from ancient times to the present
have derived inspiration from Greek mythology and have discovered contemporary
significance and relevance in Classical mythological themes.
IV. REFLECTIVE WRITING
The Judgement of Paris was ultimately a beauty contest between the
goddesses Aphrodite, Hera and Athena, but the cause of the beauty contest
was due to events at a wedding. What I have realized in the selection, is that we
always value our beauties, appearances, and power in order for someone to agree or to
reach us because of huge deal.

II. All About Spanish Literature

Spanish literature can be traced back centuries and it is clear that over this time,
Spanish literature has not only been influenced by the events happening within Spain
and across the world, but has also influenced the world itself. Spain has produced
 some fantastic writers in all genres, many of whom were instrumental in the developments of

Today, Spain is known as one of the most fascinating places to visit due to its rich
history. It is a great place to vacation to see how this small country helped shape the
world as we see it today. It was a civilization that was sought after by many people
throughout history. There were Romans, Carthaginians, and Arabs all wanting a
piece of this territory as well as Catholic monarchs. It became one of the most
powerful empires of its time, but eventually collapsed in the 19th century due to
other political arenas and agendas throughout the world. Spanish-Castle not only has
Spain given us all a rich world history, but it has also produced some of the greatest writers of all
time and has contributed immensely to literature. Spanish writers have a long literary tradition
both in Spain and in many Latin American countries. These authors have long used language as a
way of expressing their thoughts and political views throughout time and this art is even more
prolific today.

IV. REFLECTIVE WRITING

This story taught me and found out the theme of the poem is loyalty. Despite
his unjust treatment at the hands of King Alfonso, banished from Castile on
trumped-up charges of corruption, El Cid still maintains unswerving loyalty to
his lord and master. Everything he does post-exile is concerned with getting
back into the king's good books, in the hope that Alfonso will realize that the
accusations leveled against this most loyal of servants were completely false.
But it is not enough for El Cid to proclaim his loyalty; he must demonstrate it
on the field of battle.

I have this situation that no matter how they push me hard, no matter how life gives me
circumstances, struggles, and difficulties. I always loyal to myself and never give up. Trust the
