Letter of Recommendation

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Rugved Bhise, a student
of Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering Degree Program of our institute. I have known
Rugved since 2017. He is one of the most industrious and brilliant students that I have ever come
across.
Rugved is a sincere student who constantly strives to improve his performance. His academic track
record speaks of his diligence and dedication. During the classes where I taught the subject “Computer
and Communication Networks’, he was one of the few students who showed keen attentiveness and a
desire to learn more than what the syllabus contained. I was also the faculty for the laboratory courses
– ‘Signals & Systems Lab’ and ‘Signal Processing Lab’. During the practical sessions Rugved was quick to
apply the learnt concepts and showed interest in approaching the given problems in an innovative
manner. He is also a meticulous and a disciplined student who would submit all his assignments on
time.
In the third year of his bachelor’s degree, I was his guide for a semester long group project. Rugved’s
group chose to develop a convolutional neural network for automated diabetic retinopathy disease
detection. Based on their research, his group wrote an original paper about a novel method to improve
results, and this paper titled ‘Reducing Overfitting in Diabetic Retinopathy Detection using Transfer
Learning’ was presented in at the ‘2020 5 th IEEE International Conference on Computing,
Communication, and Automation’ and published to the IEEE Xplore database.
Rugved is also an active participant of various extra-curricular activities. He has been associated with
many institutional student organizations such as the college editorial and local chapter of the Fire and
Security Association of India. For the latter he has organized talks and webinars by eminent industry
leaders and also conducted awareness drives and safety audits. He was also an active participant of
various beach clean-up drives and other social initiatives conducted by the local Rotaract clubs. He has
shown willingness to take up responsibilities beyond the scope of his defined role.
I can clearly see in him a desire to learn and innovate. This along with this strong academic background
and personality traits, make him a strong contender for the Master’s degree program in your reputed
University. He will add value to the class and be an asset to your esteemed University. Hence, I
recommend him without hesitation for admission to your graduate program.
