Miss Sara Wyn Roberts

Chair of Governing Body

Mr Edward Williams
Dear parents/guardians,
Ysgol Rhoscolyn is a truly special school; unique
because of our location, our history, our aims,
our standards of teaching and learning and our
exciting extra-curricular activities.

Pupils’ individuality is celebrated and we nurture every child’s

special talents in order for them to become the best they can
be, in an environment where every child feels that they can
succeed. Every child is equal, expectations for all are high, and
through excellent teacher-pupil relationships, they become
confident, helpful and respectful young citizens, proud of our
culture and heritage.

We are confident that children are equipped with the

knowledge and skills necessary to take them forward into
the future. Through a rich and exciting curriculum, our pupils
become inquisitive and creative individuals who are learners
for life.

Our highly motivated and inspiring staff lead an innovative

curriculum. Collaboration and research are key to the success
of Ysgol Rhoscolyn as this allows staff to make the correct
choices for the children in their care. Learning is not confined
to the classroom, in today’s ever changing world, it is crucial
that teachers integrate more active learning techniques so
that pupils can learn through experiences which enhance their
understanding of the wider world.

The Ysgol Rhoscolyn community is supporting, encouraging

and inclusive and welcomes diversity. Staff have positive
relationships with all pupils and our extended school family.
Every person involved with the school, be it pupils, parents,
staff or governors, make our school the incredible place it is.

Happiness is the key that unlocks the door to a world of

learning and your child will thrive in an environment that
promotes well-being and a sense of belonging.

We look forward to your child becoming part of our happy and

caring community and joining them on the first part of their
learning journey.

Outdoor learning plays a very

important part in the life of
Ysgol Rhoscolyn.
We are very lucky at Ysgol Rhoscolyn to have
an extensive outdoor area which includes
2 large hard surface playgrounds, 2 large
playing fields, a forest school area, a pond
and storytelling area, a round house and
a pizza oven which was built by the
pupils. Our outdoor environment offers
plenty of space and is particularly
important to pupils who learn best
through active movement. By
utilising the outdoors, children
