3. THE LANGUAGE USE

Writing is the hardest activity of learning language. Even the native speakers find it difficult
to express their notion into sentences. We probably can speak up fluently but when it comes to
writing, especially using the standard structures of writing with the standard language, it is not as
easy as expressing our thought by speaking.

This book is related to chemical field where there are some patterns of chemical formula. But
the authors could make it enjoyable. The language style that they used is so simple and easy to
understand. The text is written using general vocabularies which makes it easier for English
learners to comprehend. This book uses British English.

So far, there is no misspellings or grammatical errors in every chapter. The writers are really
careful in composing every words and structures in this book. The patterns are also written neatly
with the standard symbols. Plus there are no redundancies.

4. THE CONTENT

This book is not only discussing about chemical things, but also discussing some teaching
and learning strategies in general. The authors serves us with the great brainstorming opening
with brief explanations that are written in simple way with simple language style.
We can find those strategies on each chapters with different subtopics. Different strategies
for different kind of lessons. The authors also put up the factors that affect our strategy in
learning and teaching. They do give which strategy is proper for particular fields or subjects. Of
course every individual will have different type of strategy both in learning and teaching.

The authors thoroughly in adding some experts while citing or quoting some statements in
this book. It is so important to avoid plagiarism. Most of the cited books are fresh, which means
the brand new ones. The authors explain all the material simply and tightly so it is compact.

Every paragraph is systematically arranged so well. The subtopics are so clear and
appropriate with its discussed contents. The content of this book is very well-written. You can
find the definition of some words and understand in no time, it is so simple. It is also provides
with samples.

Furthermore, the authors give the key questions to lead and ease the readers to understand the
main topic that will be discussing in one chapter. The authors serve some types of thinking that
are required to meet some objectives and then give the type of strategies that may be developed
based on it. They do write the conclusion as well as the references in the end of every chapter.

5. THE SIGNIFICANCE TO ELT IN INDONESIA

There are many things that we can obtain from this book. Strategies, type of thinking, kinds
of methods, etc. we can implement those strategies on our daily learning and teaching. We also
can implement it on our education system. Those strategies are suitable to improve our
effectiveness and productiveness in learning as well as teaching. By adapting one of the
strategies in our life, we can understand what we need and how to achieve it with the suitable
methods. This is how we should and have to learn and adjust ourselves for the better process.
