Exercise 1: Fill up the blank with the correct answer.

The graph shows the comparison of nutritional status. It compares the primary
school children nutritional level from year 2001 02 to 2007/08. All categories in the x
axis show an increasing pattern except the normal one. It shows a trend of going
down. There is a significant increase for overweight and obese category from 2001
02 to 2007 08. There is 1.5 % increase in over weight category and 3.9 %increase in
obese.

Exercise 2: Search for the classification of Body Mass Index (BMI). The first box has
been done for you.

Exercise 4:
With the help of the following questions, discuss in groups what do you understand
about the posters above.
i. Poster 1: Why is it important to have a healthy diet?
A healthy diet is vey important for each and everyone’s good health. By
having a healthy diet, we can significantly lower the risk of suffering of
many non-communicable diseases such as obesity, heart disease, stroke,
diabetes and other types of cancers.
ii. Poster 2: How does regular exercising helps in being fit?
A regular exercising can improve our muscle strength. Apart form that, it
also helps to boost our endurance. A regular exercise will help the
deliverance of oxygen and nutrient to our tissue and this will help to
improve our heart and lung to work more efficiently and thus cause us be
more fit than usual.

iii. Poster 3: What other good habits are needed to lead a healthy life?
Another habits that we needed to engage in our daily life in order to have a
healthy life is to be able to mange our stress. Apart from that, having a
regular sleeping schedule and having enough rest also needed to be
applied in order to boost our immune resistance. Lastly, we also need to
limit our exposure to toxins to our body. As example, avoid the cigarettes
and the alcohol.

iv. Poster 4: How do you lead a disease-free lifestyle?


In order for us to lower the risk of disease, we can seek medical advice on
how to live a health lifestyle. A regular check ups in hospital will help us to
stay healthy. It is because the doctors can perform early detection and it
can give us the best chance to get a right treatment quickly. It also limits
risk of the complications by closely monitoring existing conditions.
