Unit 1: Pre-school Adventure.

Focus area: Timber/ Plastics

A pre-school requires games or toys that can be played with as a small group with a focus on motor
skills and recognition functions. Being able to identify colours, sizes, shapes, etc., as well as being able
to manipulate objects.
The following are requirements for the project:
 The game or activity needs to be completed, by the children, in 5 to 10 minutes.
 Ease of understanding the procedure is important.
 The items or components need to be easy to handle for little fingers.
 Bright colours, large numbers and letters would be preferable.
 The activity needs to be safe for users and those near by.

You are required to create a survey program format that the pre-school students can respond to. This
should ask questions about favourite activities, levels of ability and, likes and dislikes, etc. The survey
will enable you to gather necessary information to assist you with designing your project.
Once completed you will conduct you survey, then formulate the data into a concise presentation
format. This presentation will form part of your reasoning for you project choice. You will need to
show a clear correlation between the game or activity you chose to produce, and the data you received
from your survey.

All information, plans and design process, including your survey link, will need to be entered into your
ePortfolio.
