Failure Makes Success

The best teacher in the world is free and people are not taking advantage of this. This

teacher is one we all have access to yet we avoid it out of fear and embarrassment. This

teacher is one we all experience at some time in our life. This teacher is failure. While many

people think failure is terrible and you should avoid it, I say failure is the best thing that can

happen to anyone in their life. ​It’s​ the best way to learn because you gain experience,

knowledge and motivation.

We have all failed something in our life whether it be at school, work, or a test or quiz, I

guarantee that you learned an important lesson from it.​ In most seniores the lesson learned is

that failure is inevitable no matter how smart you are or how hard you try and you just gotta get

back up and try again. Scientists fail on a regular basis, it’s part of their job, they even have a

technical term for it and it's called “trial and error”. The point of that is to show that failure is

going to be a factor in everyone’s life​. People can let it get them down and give up or they can

embrace it keep trying, make their problem go away and turn their dreams into reality.

Failure is the best motivator for ideas and activities you're passionate about. If a person

fails at making the cut for a team or at their career and they’re passionate about it I guarantee

they will work harder than they did before. This is because they owe it to themselves to be a

part of whatever it is that they are passionate about.​ An real life example of this is a man who

had a great fried chicken recipe​ and he traveled from restaurant to restaurant asking to partner

up and even cooked the fried chicken on the spot for them and each time the answer was no.

He went to another restaurant, the answer no, he went to another restaurant, the answer was

another no. He did this 1009 times before he heard his first yes. The chicken was so finger lickin

good that it became the popular chain restaurant we know today as KFC and the man was

Kernal Sanders. He failed 1009 times but each time he tried again and that is living proof that

failure motivates passionate people.

Failure also teaches people lessons. Failure does this by letting us gain experience

through our actions. The experience teaches us what we did wrong and how we can fix it for the

next time. Famous NBA player Micheal Jordan once said “ I can accept failure, everyone fails at

something. But I can’t stand not trying”. To me this quote shows that failure is a universal

concept ​that even happens​ to the greats and the only way to truly fail at something is to give up.

Succeeding at life is great, however failing and losing can be more beneficial. Failure will

never go away, and I would plan on becoming best friends with it because it is essential for

success. Failure teaches people to not give up. It also teaches people the mistakes they made

and it let’s them gain experience. ​Most importantly failure​ motivates passionate people.

Determination, experience, and motivation are the keys to success and failure will get you there.
