As of 08 January, 2021, 5 PM, there are 12,819 HRH hired out of the 17,175 approved slots for emergency hiring in 374 health facilities. Of these, 12.39% in COVID-19 diagnostic facility (including reference laboratories), 5.42% in COVID-19 referral facility, 2.96% in Epidemiology and
Surveillance Units, 46.82% in DOH Hospitals, 13.10% in LGU and other hospitals, 1.94% in Mega Ligtas COVID-19 Centers, 15.80% in Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, 0.00% in Primary Care Facility, 1.05% for other healthcare facilities (Philippine Red Cross), and 0.52% in
private health facilities.
The total funds allocated for HRH Emergency Hiring for COVID-19 Response is amounting to Php 2.8B. Php 1.7B from the DBM approved funds and Php 1.1B from repurposed funds. Of the total funds, Php 2.6B (89.78%) of which has already been sub-alloted to certain health facilities
(COVID referral hospitals, DOH Designated Diagnostic Facilities, and DOH Hospitals). The Php 69M (2.41%) amount is to be allocated once the Department approve the pending Memorandum of Agreement or Sub-Allotment Guidelines of other health facilities with approved health
personnel slots for hiring. The remaining balance of Php 226M (7.82%) will then be alloted for Health Facilities with future needs pertaining to HRH Emergency Hiring for COVID-19 Response.

HRH Deployment

As of 4 January 2021, 5 PM, the DOH has redeployed a total of 10,515 NDP nurses (3,233 in Luzon and 6,938 in Visayas and Mindanao) from primary care facilities to participate in hospital based and
community-based COVID-19 response. Of these, 1,254 NDP nurses are deployed in DOH and LGU hospitals handling COVID-19 cases while 9,261 NDP nurses are deployed in their respective
communities involved in contact tracing and specimen collection (swabbing).

A total of 4,265 other deployed HRH under the DOH HRH Deployment Program are currently engaged in COVID-19 response. Of these, 3,872 public health associates are assigned in RESUs, PESUs and
MESUs who play active roles in contact tracing and surveillance. There are also 393 post-residency deployed physicians in priority health facilities.

Other HRH who are in their assigned areas continue to provide essential health services in primary care and are engaged in COVID-19 response, with focus on prevention of spread and surveillance in
communities.
