waves to transfer data between a reader and a movable item with RFID tags to identify,
categorize and track. There are numerous applications of RFID when it comes to school. From
managing your staff and students’ attendance to automating your library, RFID helps bring

 RFID Solution for Time &
Attendance
While many are content with the current method of attendance taking,
others are slowly realizing that it is a time consuming and inefficient
method of taking attendance. From the point of view of a school which
has hundreds of students spread across different standards and
sections, this could be a tiresome method. Normally, the process takes about ten minutes.
And when you multiply the same for different periods within the same day, the total time
spent in a day for time and attendance nears almost an hour per day. This time could instead
be used for imparting knowledge to students. Also, since the attendance is usually taken with
the help of registers; the collected data has to be keyed into a Microsoft Excel Sheet or any
other application at the end of a month.

On the other hand, the attendance for teachers can be captured using two RFID readers at
the two locations mentioned during the discussion, where the teachers can simple flash their
RFID card and register their attendance.

RFID promises to change this and has proved to deliver results. An RFID enabled
time and attendance system helps you in the following ways –

1. Attendance of the entire class can be taken automatically

2. The attendance of the teacher can also be captured at the same time in order to know
the time when the teacher walked into the classroom and to associate the particular
period with a particular teacher

3. The collected data can be automatically sent to the database and reports can be
published to various users which might include the students, teachers and parents etc.,

4. Eliminate manual entry of attendance data into a separate spreadsheet or application.

• RFID Readers are installed at locations that are pre-specified by the Technical experts

• Teachers are assigned RFID tagged ID Cards, which, when crosses the RFID Reader and
Antenna, records their attendance

• When the card is scanned, the time and attendance of the faculty member is recorded

and the information is sent to the database.

 • RFID Readers are installed inside the classroom close to the entrance, where the
students’ attendance is registered when the RFID tagged ID cards cross.

• The attendance of all the students inside the classroom can be captured before the
teacher arrives to the classroom.

• A report can be immediately generated and mailed to the teacher for him/her to cross
check and confirm the list of absentees in the classroom.

Management
Library Management
Libraries are an invaluable asset for a school and its students. Yet, running a library efficiently
is quite a challenging task. Research among librarians running libraries of various sizes shows
that some of the prime issues they face are with filing books in the right place, taking stock of
books periodically and finding a missing book. Passive RFID technology is a proven & reliable
method for automating the process of library management, providing an invaluable tool for
the effective monitoring and management of the books in the library. Once your books have
been tagged and the required readers are installed, you can transform a lot of processes
within your library. For example, unlike having to wait for your school to close for vacations
for doing stock checking, RFID lets you do multiple stock checks in a month. Books wrongly
shelved can be found out during stock checks can be put in the right place. On using a self
checkout kiosk, students can even issue books on their own. Therefore, RFID can increase
satisfaction levels for all its uses.

• During issue, the application adds the scanned books to individual member
accounts with the help of a desktop or self check out kiosks.

Requires the installation of walk through antennas)

• Inventory check can be done instantly with the help of a handheld reader.

RFID Solution for Logging in School
Bus
Student Logging in School Bus
Schools ferrying students from their campus to their respective drop locations would like to
have a log of which students got in / out of the bus at what time. This would give the school
precise data each and every student picked up in a given day and send confirmation alerts to
parents via SMS or email. Implementing RFID readers in the buses will let the helper in the
bus to automatically scan the tags worn by students using an handheld reader.

How it works

Option 1


• Buses are installed with a GPRS enabled Multi Protocol Reader where the students have
to scan their id cards to log into the bus. Similarly, the students while getting out of the
bus have to scan their ID Cards at the entrance to log out of the bus.

• The collected data can then be transferred automatically to the application by the MPR

• Based on the collected data, reports and alerts can be generated.

 • Helpers in each of the bus are given a Handheld reader that can scan cards of students
as they get into the bus.

• The Unique ID (UID) in the RFID Tag is stored in the Handheld reader

• The students who have been issued with a RFID ID Card can use the same card for
getting logged into the bus.

• After arriving at the school, the helper can scan each of the tag as the students walk out

• Scanning of an RFID tag takes place in milliseconds, ensuring quick movement of

students from the bus.

• All the stored information in the handheld reader can be downloaded onto the
application using an USB or an Ethernet port and reports and alerts can be generated

• The first payment of 50% is due once the contract has been signed.

• The Second Payment of 25% is due after the deployment of the solution.

Other Terms
• This offer is valid up to XX days from the date of its issuance.
• All products have a standard 1 year "Carry-In" Warranty
• Implementation : X-X weeks
• The software and hardware comes with free support and service for one year
• All upgrades will be charged based on the client need
• The implementation will be done according to the implementation guideline
• Remote support (Email/Telephone) support shall be provided free for 1 year for
hardware integration with application software.
• For On-site support we shall charge INR. XXX.XX for the first 2 hours and then INR.

• We provide AMC at a cost of 18% per year of the total cost of the project for Years 1, 2

• Our team will conduct a site survey and submit the report to the Project Team, based
on which the Implementation will be planned and executed

• The duration of implementation depends on the complexity of the project
• Once the Hardware is deployed, the integration of the Application with the hardware
