C. Point out Rizal’s principal message in each of the following poems..

26-30 Un Recuerdo a Mi Pueblo

In the poem “Un Recuerdo a Mi Pueblo” he fondly reminisces about his
hometown and its natural surroundings, including the lagoons, the white lilies,
the lakes, rivers and woodlands he explored as a child. He equates a happy
childhood with the town and its environment and ends with the wish that God
would keep its innocence safe forever.

31-35. La Intima Alianza Sobre la Religion y la Buena Education

In the poem La Intima Alianza Sobre la Religion y la Buena Education, Rizal
shared his thought about the importance of education to enlighten the nation
which was useful to gain societal freedom for every nation. It may also provide us
the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to expand the horizon of our
thoughts. However, this would not be enough to be properly educated. Rizal
thought that there was really an intimate alliance between religion and good
education.
36-40. Por la Education Recibe Lustre la Patria

Rizal wrote the poem ‘Por La Educación (Recibe Lustre La Patria)’ to

highlight the importance of education to the country and its citizens. To read the
English translation of this poem, see Education Gives Luster to Motherland.
41-45. Mi Primera Inspiracion
Most likely, “Mi Primera Inspiracion” was the first poem Jose Rizal had written
during his stint at Ateneo. This poem was written in honor of his mother’s
birthday as suggested by the terms “perfume of the flowers”, “the songs of the
birds”, “feast your day of bloom” and “festive day”. Jose Rizal’s poetic verses
show his eternal love and appreciation for his mother. This was somewhat his way
of paying tribute to all the efforts for him of her dear mother.
