Comparison: ( Explanation of everything that you have observed with the curriculum guide and MELC’s)

There's no difference between the DepEd Curriculum guide and ofcourse the MELC's because the idea of
Melc's in their competencies also came from of old curriculum they just rephrase the idea to get what is
necessary the most important which is also an advantage to student because they are now learning in
advance .

Why do you think that MELC’s were introduced now?”

Because of what happening to the world specially to the philippines, they created MELC's to shortened
curriculum guide in all subject and this is the way of preparing of bureau of development and
Department of Education to the new normal of education which they consider to shorten the school
year, limited interaction with the teacher and student.

MELC'S focuses more on knowledge, understanding, skills and appreciation to make them more
productive and responsible student like Curriculum guide the Melc's will be the basis of teacher in their
content of teaching. The Melc's become the shortest guide in teaching which been selected by the
expert. And it is said that the Melc's is way of achieving the 21st century skills which they will be
focusing on the major competencies in the different subject which is based on performace standard and
the content and this learning competencies also came from the curriculum guide they just did is they
rephrase by thoroughly studied which is just essential and desirable and they did not change the basic
education curriculum because Melc's is already prepared before the pandemic happen thay already did
a research on impact of k to 12 and they see the advantage of MELC'S on the K to 12 but because of the
pandemic they already pushed through to create this system which is now finish and ready on teaching
even in the midst of pandemic and this is also presented in IATF as part of new education system in this
year. We need MELC's because the Teacher must have important skill in teaching which is to priority
student's health at the same time the student will still have a learning which is New Normal of teaching
and curriculum.

“Shall we stick in using the curriculum guide during this pandemic?”

-For me, No. Because of what is happening now in our country we can't still go back to what is usually
education that we have, we can longer have an activity which really a disadvantage because in that
activity we are molding our creativity, we are knowing our passion and ofcourse were making a new
memories with those new people in our surrounding, school year will be as long as what we had before,
the curriculum that we have before will not able to followed. Deped curriculum will temporarily replace
by the new normal education which is Melc's limited contact with teacher and classmate, class time will
no longer, more on paper work and oral recitation more on communicating with the gadget. But what's
best is that we become advance in learning and we can still learn even because of this pandemic.
