Concept board
A concept board can be defined as the
starting point of the creative process for a
new home/room design. A form of stimulus
material, comprising visual and/or verbal
representation of an idea for a product or
service, often outlining its attributes and
benefits and used to present this idea to
participants in research.
• A design concept is the overarching idea that informs and
organizes your design.
• Design concepts are based on the client brief and the design
Concept analysis.
Development • Concepts are translated in a concrete and specific manner.
• Concepts are ideas that integrate various elements into a
whole.

A design  It’s how you plan on solving the design problem in front of you. Your concept
will lead to your choices in color and type. It’ll choose your aesthetic and

 Question: Why do designers use concept statements?
 Answer: Concept statements are one of the most important tools.
That's the way you can win client bids by writing a strong design
concept statement. It gives a prospective client the visual elements
of your design ideas for the space and what needs to be changed
or updated. that they want to be changed or upgraded. It also
provides you the chance to detail your inspiration and vision in a
way that differentiates your style from competing interior
designers for the same project.
What is a Design Theme?
 Its about the combination of components of designs and elements

 Question: What are the differences between interior design
concepts and themes?
 Answer: A concept is the inception of an interior design project. It

result from trying to describe a design
concept verbally.

• A mood board is an arrangement of images,


materials, textures, fonts, and colors that
evokes the style of a project or concept. For
many, a mood board is the springboard for
design creativity.
