A simplex mill limited is a company which is engaged in manufacturing industrial cloth
and cotton. The company is also involved in trading of textile products. The company
manufactures and supplies 100% cotton. The company’s yarns are made available in single as
well as multiple folded cotton yarns. The Company manufactures various types of fabrics include
oxford weave, twill weave, leno weave and nylon fabric.1

Q.No.1:
What is the central idea of this study?
Answer:
In this case study, the managers have different point of views on how they think the work
should be done. Conflict in workplace is healthy and a positive competition between departments.

Q.No.2:
Is George’s view of the situation realistic?
Answer:
There are many departments in the organization, so, the George’s view of the situation is
not realistic. Each department has a principle as to when, where and how he worked in a
particular department.
If any organization that set into multiple departments, every department have their own
plans to work with, in order to make results good and error free. So, it was not realistic for
George to ask questions purchasing manager about it.

How do you evaluate Vipulabh’s position?
Answer:
Vipulabh is the manager of the marketing department. He thinks that it is a very good
decision for the organization if the purchasing and marketing department unified in organization.
The marketing and sales departments are depending on each other. It is the duty of the Vipulabh
to give idea to the manager and also to the purchasing department.
In this situation, Vipulabh requesting of making purchasing and marketing departments
and unified process in acceptable and important idea from which their process have in common.

Q.No.4:
What should the president of Simplex Mills do now?
Answer:
Take a step back, think about situation and see how this conflict can have positive impact
on team. But if it becomes serious or goes on for too long he need to intervene if it causes a
sudden change in employee behavior or a noticeable reduction in productivity.

Q.No.5:
How might this conflict be associated with factors in the formal organization?
Answer:
Any conflict can be ruin the environment of the organization. The production of any
confusion in different departments can be effect on team work. But any conflict can be solved in
better way than a successful and profitable idea can be generated. If any conflict is managed
properly then it will be good for any organization.
Unresolved conflict in the workplace will lead to miscommunication resulting from
confusion to cooperate creative collaboration and team problem solving. But managed conflict
correctly can lead to great decisions improvement in processes new ideas and better relationship
between each other.
