Reasoning for the TDMA component / spreading factors 1-16

q Benefits of intra-cell interference cancellation can be exploited

with reasonable receiver complexity.
q Relaxed power control requirements due to near-far resistance
provided by intra-cell interference cancellation.
q Provides a certain interference escape mechanism by utilizing
different time slot(s).
q TDMA is better than pure CDMA for uncoordinated operation.

Terminal power classes

Power class Maximum output power

1 [33] dBm
2 [27] dBm
3 [24] dBm
4 [21] dBm
5 [10] dBm
6 [0] dBm

q Power classes 5 and 6 are envisaged for unlicensed operation.

q For multi-code operation the maximum output power will be reduced by
the difference of the peak to average ratio between single and multi-code
transmission.
