Glasgow wrestlers were busy over the weekend,
hosting two mixers. Then on Tuesday the Scotties were
in Havre for a triangular, taking on the Blue Ponies and

Glasgow hosted Baker, Malta and Wolf Point Friday
evening. Saturday the Wolves came back to take in a spot
left open when Whitehall couldn’t make it due to the
weather. I-90 west of Billings was not safe for travel with
a 20-car pileup when a semi-trailer jack knifed.
Fort Benton-Big Sandy made the trip over to get in
on the action.
Glasgow recorded 33 pins in winning 34 matches
with Dylan Nieskens taking down three of his opponents
with quick pins. The senior pinned Jordan Davis of Wolf
Point in 42 seconds Friday. It took him 58 seconds to beat
Davis Saturday and needed only 31 seconds to take out
JC Smith also from Wolf Point.
Austin Hughes also had a 34 second pin over Sophia
Dulin of Baker. Not to be outdone was Cooper Larson,
who pinned Chance Smith of Wolf Point in 34 seconds.
Nine of the grapplers went undefeated over the
weekend with Larson and Nieskens going 4-0 with four
pins each. Jake Kuka was 3-0 with three pins, Kyler
Hallock, Hughes, Devon and Damien Nesbitt, Colten
Fast, and Mayson Phipps were 2-0 with two pins apiece.
Ethan Nickels was 3-1 with three pins, Devon Adkins
and Kohl Kittleson 2-1 with two pins each.
Glasgow was looking for good competition in Havre
and the Scotties got it and got a good look at Cut Bank.
The Scotties edged the Wolves, 36-35, and lost to Class A
Havre, 33-25.
Glasgow (15-5) forfeited two weight classes against
Cut Bank. The Scotties also lost the 126, 132, 160 and 182
classes. Glasgow won the 113, 145, 162, 170, 205 and 285
bouts.
Kuka pinned Brandon Murphy in 3:45 at 113, Devon
Nesbitt pinned Brock Barcus in 1:09 at 145, Fast pinned
Mathew Larson in 3:11 at 152, Hallock needed only 38
seconds to take down Ethan Sullivan at 170, Nieskens
took down Dalton Esky in 1:10 at 205, and Phipps pinned
Jeremy Gallagher in 1:37 at 285.
The Scotties forfeited the 103 weight class, but
picked up forfeits at 205 and 285 against the Blue Ponies.
Kuka won his bout with a major decision 11-2 win over
Carson Harris, Alex Ost won his 132 bout over Hunter
Velk with a 2-1 decision, and it took Fast only 39 seconds
to pin Landon Caplette to the mat.
Larson lost his match, 3-1, to Randy Tommerup,
Hallock lost his bout by a major decision, 14-6, to Orion
Thivlerge.
Glasgow will be home this weekend, hosting
Broadus, Chinook and Forsyth in a mixer tonight at 5
p.m. Saturday the Scotties will host Huntley Project and
Miles City in a triangular dual.
The Scotties will get a good battle from Huntley
and Miles City. Huntley gave Glasgow a fight for the
state championship last year and looks to be chasing the
Scotties this year.
There is only one more weekend left of the
regular season before Glasgow will host the divisional
tournament.
