Flash programs, like Adobe Flash, are devices that add animation and videos to websites and web pages. If you use Facebook,
you’ll notice it has a number of advertisements. These ads make use of flash programs extensively. Also, the games you can play
on Facebook make use of flash programs as well. That is why sometimes, Facebook requires you to have an updated flash player
to play their games. However, before you can create games and advertisements, you first need to know the basics. The following
are steps that can show you how to draw basic shapes in flash:

Open flash. Before you begin learning how to draw basic shapes in flash, you need a blank document to learn on. Start up your
flash program and open a new document so you may start with a clear white page.

Familiarize yourself. Familiarize yourself with the flash program and all the toolbars and buttons on the task bar. Read up on
them, study them and learn how to use the each panel, button and tool. You need to be able to know what each button does before
drawing so learning to draw becomes easier.

Think of what to draw. Which shapes do you want to draw first? Do you want to draw a circle, a line or a box? Before drawing,
think first of what to draw so you do not waste your time looking for which button or tool gives you the shape you want.

Draw. After thinking of what you want to draw, it is time for you to actually draw them. Here is a list of tools with their
corresponding shapes:

Line tool. It is used to draw a straight line.

Pen tool. It allows you to draw curved lines.

Oval tool. It helps you create an oval.
Rectangle tool. It allows you to create rectangles.
Pencil tool. It gives you the chance to draw freely.

For the line, oval and rectangle tool, all you need to do is press Left-click on any part of your black document and then drag it.
This will create a straight line, rectangle or oval. For the pen tool, Left-click once to create a point and dragging this point makes
it a curve point. You can use this new curved point to make curved lines. The pencil tool lets you draw whatever you want,
however you want. You are no longer limited; you can draw freely with the pencil.

Add color to the shapes. On the Tools panel, you can select two different types of color: fill and stroke color. Fill color allows
you to fill a shape with the color you choose. It is also the color when you use the brush. Stroke color is the color of the outlines
of your shapes. You can also click on the Brush tool that allows you to paint freely on the document.

Do not forget. Always keep in mind, even after figuring out what to draw and how to draw, do not stop drawing. Practicing
drawing shapes in flash will help you become better and more comfortable with flash programs. This will in time help you to be
able to draw more than just shapes in flash programs.

By following these steps, you will be able to draw basic shapes in flash. And possibly, in the future, these steps can help you
create your own flash games or advertisements online.

Tweaning of Shape
Follow the steps, your animation will convert a rectangle to circle.
1. Open new file.
2. Make a rectngle on the first frame.
3. Now if you want a quick animation, (it depends on you how many frames
you want) right click on Frame number 10.
4. Select Insert Keyframe from that menu. Now you will see another
DOT on frame number 10.
5. Left click on Frame 10 and delete that frame. Now only frame number 10
is empty, other 9 frames are not empty.
6. Now click on Fram 10 and drae a circle. Now if you see there is a Circle
on frame number 10 and a rectangle on all other frames.
7. Now click on any frame between 1 and 10.

Applying TWEEN to Text.

When you apply tweaning to TEXT its a little bit different. Because you
cannot directly apply tweening to text.
You dont need to do anything else, there only one change in doing so.
1. Write text "SWiSH-DB".
2. Click on text and from Modify menu, select Break Apart.
3. Now each single alphabet is seperated. It looks like this

4. Now again goto Modify menu and select Break Apart.

then it will look like this.

5. Now rightclick on frame number 10 and select Inert Keyframem and delete this frame.
7. Again write "Ultimate Designers", and do the above steps with this (break apart etc)..
7. Now click on any frame between 1 and 10.
8. Now if you see in properties (at the bottom) there will be written
Tween and in front of this, there will be a combobox, now
you have to select Shape from it.
A. Creating Motion Tween in Flash

1. Draw a vector using any of the drawing tools in Flash, say a small circle and convert it into a symbol
(F8) by selecting the Graphic option and name the symbol say 'ball'.
2. Click the 20th frame in the Timeline and insert a frame (F5).
3. Now right-click the 20th frame in the Timeline and select Create Motion Tween (or Motion option
from the Tween panel of the Properties inspector) and insert a Key Frame (F6).
4. Select the 10th frame and insert a Key frame (F6) and move the ball to a different position say,
above the current position to create a motion sequence (automatically tweened by Flash).
5. Save your work and test the Movie (Ctrl + Enter). That's it you have created simple animation
using Motion Tween.

Fig: Timeline of Motion Tween

Note: Use the Color Panel of the Properties inspector to reduce the Alpha value from 100 to 32 for the 1st
and last frames to produce Simple Alpha Tweening as shown in the Example.

B. Creating Shape Tween in Flash

1. You can create Shape Tweened animations using Shape option from the Tween panel of the
Properties inspector. Draw a vector using any of the drawing tools in Flash, say a small circle and
remove its border.
2. Click the 10th frame in the Timeline and insert a Key Frame (F6). Now draw another shape say a
diamond using the rectangle tool without a border.
3. Now right-click on any frame in between these two Key Frames and select Shape option from the
Tween panel of the Properties inspector.
4. Save your work and test the Movie (Ctrl + Enter). That's it you have learnt how to create Shape
Tween in Flash.
Fig: Timeline of Shape Tween

Note: Only vectors can be Shape Tweened (Not for Symbols). Note both the Tweens have different colors
along the Timeline as shown above. Make sure that the line is smooth without being broken to ensure
correct Tweening.

C. Frame-by-Frame Animation

1. Create a vector/plain text using any of the drawing tools in Flash, say a text with 'Animation' typed
as shown in the example and break it using Break Apart (Ctrl + B) to separate the alphabets as
shown below:

Fig: Showing Text after Break Apart

2. In Frame-by-Frame animation we create the object for each frame so as to produce an animation
sequence.
3. Insert Keyframe (F6) and move the alphabets so as to produce an animation sequence.
4. Repeat the above step as far as desired to create Frame-by-Frame animation as shown in the
example.
5. Save your work and test the Movie (Ctrl + Enter). That's it you have created an animation using
Frame-by-Frame animation.

D. Creating a Guided Motion Tween in Flash

1. Create a vector/plain text using any of the drawing tools in Flash, say a text with 'Flash' typed and
break it using Break Apart (Ctrl + B) as done in the previous example and put each alphabet in
different layers and name the layers as shown in the picture below.
2. Insert a guide layer by right-clicking the topmost layer and select 'Add Guide Layer' (Insert--
>Timeline-->Motion Guide), draw any path using the pencil tool in the guide layer as shown in
the example.
3. Now create Motion tween by selecting the object in the 1st frame and snapping its registration point
to one end of the path.
4. Snap the object in the last frame to the other end of the path in the guide layer.
5. Repeat the same for all the objects (alphabets) by snapping their registration points to the path in
the guide layer.
6. Save your work and test the Movie (Ctrl + Enter). That's it you have learnt how to create motion
along a guided path.
