Ritu Wears is the biggest family store chain in north and central India. The founder of RWs
JDS united has exceeded the benchmarks in the world of fashion. In 1965 RW enters the
Indian fashion industry with a 200 sq. Feet children¶s wear store at Lajpat Nagar. Ritu Wears
is a brand for the passionate. In fact, RW have always maintained that without passion there
can be no fashion. RW has successfully carved a niche for its brand of merchandise.
Currently the group has 11 stores (including the newly opened store at Jalandhar) sprawled
across 5,000-40,000 sqa fta each in Delhi & NCR, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh and is rapidly
expanding throughout North and Central India. RW is exclusively merchandised and the
products ranges from stylized clothes, footwear, cosmetics, fragrances, toys, watches,
luggage and accessories for men, women and children to well coordinated table linens,
artifacts, home accessories and furnishings. This is about the merchandise categories
available in the stores of RW. These stores are stocked with international and national brands
in apparel, footwear, lifestyle accessories, toys, luggage, and home products. RW prides itself
of being a fashion store for the entire family. Mission of RW is to follow the path of honesty
and integrity to build the most profitable retail lifestyle business which is replicable, scalable
and sustainable.


   
 


Recently Big Bazar opened its 102 store in Jalandhar. This store is 6 K.M. far from the city.
This store is on the NH 1 that is from Amritsar to Delhi. The main reason of selecting this
location to the store is to target the people of Jalandhar along with the other peoples who are
coming or going from this NH 1. There are lot of verities and categories of products available
in the store. The main motive of the store is to provide the product of best quality with
reasonable prices. The vision of Big Bazar is to deliver ³everything, everywhere, every time
for every Indian Consumer in the most profitable manner´.

Big Bazaar is a chain of supermarkets in India, which takes account of every family's needs
and requirements. This dealer is a subsidiary of Future Group, trousers Retail India Ltd. Big
Bazaar has released its doors to fashion, general merchandise as sports goods, cutlery,
crockery, cutlery, and home furnishings, etc.

Big Bazaar Group offers more than 100 stores across the country with a combination of
Indian bazaars' feel and touch with one of convenience and choice of modern retail facilities.


 
 

Ritu wears is the retail store that is known as for its apparels. We can find all kind of apparels
in the store. In the other hand in Big Bazar we can find so many product categories. So for
the comparison of both the stores I have selected the apparels. Big Bazar is in apparels
offering Denims & T-Shirts, Fabric and cut piece, Formal wears, Casual wear, Party wear,
Ethnic wear, under garments, Night wears and Saris etc. Other side Ritu Wears is offering all
kinds of apparels as well as accessories. If we compare both the stores the market conditions
then we would found that there is so much difference in the both stores marketing condition.
RW is near the model town that is very posh area of the city. In this area the people of very
high income are living. That is the big strength for this store. Other hand Big Bazar is on NH
and targeting the middle income people of the city. Its brand name is its very big strength.

know that which product is the right for them.

products. According to this strategy it set prices by taking care of people of the area
how much they can afford and in case of festival season it provides lot of discounts
and offers etc.

where lot of people use to visit. It always chooses the location where it found highly

back offer, exchange offer, special occasion etc. Big Bazaar, in association with Star
India Pvt Ltd, has launched a collection of designer ethnic wear under the brand "Star
Parivaar´. And above line means giving advertise in news paper, TV. Internet (own
website which give online shopping service), partnership with Big filx, Big FM 92.7.

 RW choose the best location for its stores or showrooms near the city
or well posh area of the city where it can easily target the large number of people
group.

1)c Data base is formed through the issues of future card and card is of three types silver
card, gold card and sakthi card. Sakthi card is issued to ladies and this card provides
free sugar of 1kg per month.
2)c Customer profitability analysis is done on the basis of transactions made through the
future cards.

4)c Interact with individuals customers to improve the knowledge about individuals needs
and to build stronger relationships.

a)c Periodic surveys: -- It is done on the quarterly and overall survey is done by the

c)c Mystery Shoppers: -- They pose as normal customers perform specific tasks such
as purchasing a product asking questions, registering complaints or behaviour.

customers whenever they used to visit the store.
2)c And they are also trying to retain their customers by fulfilling their needs and wants.
3)c Another concept for the purpose of CRM they are using to communicate with its
customers and also trying to know that which kinds of products and services they
want to get from the stores of RW.
4)c They are also using customer gratification for the purpose of CRM.
5)c RW is also providing the facilities like membership. According to this it provides
some kinds of cards to its customers with the help of these cards they got the
membership and they can get the other benefits or discounts of the store.

Always we know that our CRM policy always affect the market condition like if we are
making good relations with our customers then we can increase our customers and also our
products that we are issuing also affect it. Because if we are providing the products according
to the customers preference or choice then we can maintain them. Like Bigbazar is providing
the good products according to the customer¶s income they are loyal towards the store main
target of Big Bazar to capture the middle income group of people because the population
under this category is high. And Ritu Wears is targeting the young generation so it is
providing the products of latest fashion. If it will not provide these products then obviously it
will lose its customers. So every retailer tried to provide the products or services to its
customers by taking care of the market condition and customers preference etc. These are the
some parameters that retailers use for selecting products for their stores.

The market condition for both the stores is different because they are so far from each other.
If we talk about the market conditions for Big Bazar are good as we compared them with the
market conditions of Ritu Wears because this store is in ³Model Town´ and this is the area
where there is lot of competition in the market. Because there are lot of apparels stores or
showrooms are available. And if we talk about the Big Bazar then we know that recently
opened store of Wal-Mart is the very big competitor for Big Bazar. According to me this is
the age of innovation especially in the ³Indian market´ low cost innovation is the ultimate
tool to win the battle for the companies. Thus the companies need to be innovation with their
ideas and always try to deliver the customer with some new added value for their purchasing.
Because they get bored for using always same products or services.
