Symantec Ghost Solution Suite is the industry’s most widely used corporate imaging and deployment solution. It provides OS
migration, OS and software deployment, PC "personality" migration (user settings, data, and profiles), hardware and software
inventory, and secure system retirement. These capabilities combined with a central management console allow IT staff to easily
manage the entire PC lifecycle, accelerate tasks, and reduce systems management and support costs. With Ghost Solution Suite,
administrators can quickly and easily deploy or restore a baseline OS image or application onto a PC in minutes as well as migrate
user settings, data, and profiles—all without physically touching the PC.

Q. What is the difference between Norton Ghost™ and Symantec Ghost?
A. Norton Ghost is a consumer product that leverages the backup/recovery technology found in Symantec Backup Exec™ System
Recovery. Symantec Ghost is designed for SMB, midmarket, and enterprise organizations for imaging and deployment/
provisioning of new systems and distribution of software updates.
Q. Can I use Symantec Ghost for backup?
A. Some organizations use Symantec Ghost for limited backup and recovery of client systems. However, it does not offer all the
features and benefits provided by a comprehensive backup solution. For those wanting to get an industry-leading backup and
recovery solution that includes scheduled backups, the ability to create and restore from a recovery point, and delta snapshots
