1.0 Introduction: This project “Hospital Management System”

is a computerized management system which is developed to
form whole management system including patients
,doctors(consultants) ,nurses ,bills and complaints etc.This project
provides a GUI based platform which would be easily
understandable to its users.

1.1 Purpose of the Document:

This document contains the synopsis for “hospital management
system” project. The synopsis will include the functional
requirement and the data requirement, both of which will
describe how the developers will design the project in order to
achieve all objective. This document will serve as a guide for the
client and the developers allowing for a common document to
understand the implementation.

Scope of the Project:

Hospital management system provide a graphical user interface
used to help in storing ,retrieving ,updating information about the
patients state ,list of doctors(consultant) ,bills regarding to the
patient in an efficient manner.

Technology Used:
JAVA: Core Java Language for development of project.

MS Access: MS Access is used as a back end(database).

1.4 Overview of the Document
This section (2.0) contains general information on how this project
will run. It will explain most of the programs features and
requirements without many implementation details. Section (3.0)
contains the software requirement data.

2.0 General Description

2.1 User Characteristic:

The project ‘Hospital management system’ can be used by two

types of users –one is administrator which can access all the
information regarding to the hospital and he(admin) can also
make changes in that. The another user of this project is the
hospital management such as doctors ,clerks etc which can only
access the information regarding to the patient state.

2.2 Overview of Functional Requirement:

i. It contains all the information of patients and doctors .

ii. it will provide the access to the Admin and user(staff,doctor).

2.3 Non-functional requirements

i. Security features so that a user can’t make changes in your
logical level.

ii. 24 X 7 availability

iii. Flexible service based architecture will be highly desirable for

future extension.

5.Recommendations on Future:-

Improvement:
There is always room for improvement and the project we created
can also be improved. This is especially because we had to create
it within limited time.With more time, the project can be improved
to include security and different types of users. This was our
origin after-thought to programming the project.
