Dear Scholarship Donor!

My name is Huong Nguyen and people always calls me Rosie because my real name kind of hard to pronounce and
the meaning of the name Rosie is somewhat similar to my real name. I was born in Hanoi, Vietnam. Currently, I am
an 11th grade student in Dauphin Religion Comprehensive High School. I like travelling, adventurous stuffs,
trekking, huge lovely mountains, going to beach, and staying on the shore as the waves wash my feet, seeing the
rain, cloudy rainy days are my favorite, of course early mornings too, you see the happiest and most optimistic me in
the early mornings. One area that I’m passionate about is self-development and improve myself in my life, I
surrounding myself with positive people and I do what I love and I also love what I do . Although it was
unbelievable to say that since I was a child, I have always known what I want to do with my life. I envisioned
myself from a young age in a nurse outfit with hospital equipment and I am confident that I will try to achieve that
and make my childhood dream come true.

I am the type of person that is very organized. I’m able to keep track of complicated works, I’m rarely miss a
deadline and I always take notes and use a range of tools to keep myself up to date. I want to keep a clean workspace
and keep proper belongings and documents so I can always find what I need. In addition, I am ambitious and
driven. I want to find success in my life and live comfort when I’m older so I always thrive myself on challenge and
constantly set goals for myself, so I have something to strive towards. My classmates think I do not talk much and
kind of quiet, they probably describe me as a quiet person and it’s difficult to get to know me. It just because
sometime I has trouble not knowing what to say to start or continue a conversation but my close friends know I am
unstoppable if I start talking once.

I would say that my greatest strength is my tenacity. I plan what I’m going to do quite detail so I can execute them
without think too much, moreover when I do something, I want to do it right, so I am willing to put in the time and
effort to see it through and I am rarely gives up and never stops trying .In addition, I am very cooperative. I always
enjoy teamwork and like to be part of a team and share my ideas with other people. In the project teams I have
joined, members work with many people and are motivated to make those projects more creative and diverse. But I
am very shy, I cannot express myself well in a crowd and I used to uncomfortable being at ease with myself around
people . However, I am constantly looking for ways to be more outspoken. Throughout middle and high school,
most of my teachers commented that I hardly speak up in class even though I had an opinion on the subject matter. I
joined the English club in middle school getting to college to be able to face a crowd and speak. Surprisingly, I
began to conquer my fear of the crowd and express myself better. I am also perceptiveness. I have always had a
natural ability to pick up on changes in people’s emotions by noticing body language or facial expressions that why I
can notices pattern of behaviors , down to the small nuances and make conjectures base of those observation. I’m
able to work under pressure , I can concentrate on working and studying for hours without being distracted and I
can come up with a very detail time management plan, found new ways to boost efficiency that enable me finish my
works on time . I also feel I am a problem solver. I have the ability to see a situation from different perspectives and
I can get my work done even in the face of difficult obstacles .However I need time to understand the problems and
analyze it for a good decision. I am proud of my writing skills and believe that they will make me a better analyst. I
am able to communicate complicated topics to different audiences and I can take a lot of data and information and
find the story and themes needed for my topics.
