Q1- You have been appointed as a project manager of a youth project in your constituency. Your task is
to develop a youth project based on the needs of the target group. Explain the phases/stages of the
project cycle, this particular project would go through until its completion. Use a relevant example to

Q2- 1-About Nishat Mills Ltd (20 Marks)

Nishat Mills Ltd is the largest textile composite unit in Pakistan. Nishat Linen is a concern of
Nishat Mills, the textile and home fashion retail chain that has redefined the industry with
acute attention paid to quality, design and affordability. Nishat Linen prides itself on being the
brand of preference for discerning customers who are in search of things, unique and chic
without compromising on aesthetics or price. Unsurpassed customer service, including tailor-
made orders, ensures our clientele remains loyal to the Nishat family.

It is engaged in the business of textile manufacturing, spinning, combing, weaving, bleaching,


dyeing, printing, stitching, buying, selling and otherwise dealing in yarn, linen, cloth and other
goods and fabrics made from raw cotton, synthetic fiber and cloth, and to generate,
accumulate, distribute and supply electricity. Nishat Mills Limited has 227,640 spindles, 805
Toyota air jet looms. The Company also has the most modern textile dyeing and processing
units, 2 stitching units for home textile, two stitching units for garments and Power Generation
facilities with a capacity of 120 MW.

2. Significance of PPM in Nishat Mills Ltd


Nishat Mills operations should perform their scheduled functions so that the deadlines are not
violated. Application of PM is useful in various departments of garment production. Like in
cutting department cut scheduling problem concerns finding a feasible cutting schedule having
the minimum number of lays. The availability of multiple solutions allows greater flexibility and
permits decision makers to apply additional criteria in selecting an appropriate cutting
