March 2011

What’s Happening in your 4-H Club?

What you’re doing in 4-H is important and we want to share your experiences with others in Rock
County 4-H. The Club Happenings section of this newsletter is for you. Encourage your club re-
porter to write a paragraph or two and send it to Sue Fredrich, sue.fredrich@ces.uwex.edu by the
first Friday of the month and we will publish it in the next Cloverpatch. We would like to hear
from every club because what you are doing in your community is important.

Club Project Meetings

Remember that as a 4-H member you learn to be responsible for your projects, going to meetings,
knowing deadlines, getting to know others, learning to work as a team, etc.

If you have a project meeting in your club, it is your responsibility to let that leader know if you
will or will not be attending. Adult 4-H leaders give of their time to share their knowledge and
skills and they will show you how to accomplish what you choose to do in a project area, so take the
time to contact them and thank them for their time and let them know if you will be attending.
Remember, a phone call and a “thank you” goes a long way.

4-H Learn-In a Huge Success

2011 started off with our “4-H Learn-In” focused on the new 4-H member and an introduction to
many different projects. A special thanks to all the adults and youth that helped make this hap-
pen. We used a phone in registration and the classes that were offered included photography, clo-
verbuds, scrapbooking, naturespace, music & dance, drama, cake decorating (beginning & advanced)
and adult leader training. A special thank you to our teachers; Daryl Hansen, Mike Farrey, Lou
Holland, Kathy Tober, Jeanne Smith, Amber & Sue Schimke, Marrissa Neal, Linda Marshall, Sally
Reisem, Donna Duerst and additional adult and youth helpers. We also want to thank our help with
registration; Briana Bader, Abbey Millard, Lauren Metcalf, Felicia Moy, Colleen Kueltz, Grace van
Veldhuisen and Kathy van Veldhuisen.

Look for this event again next year. If there is a project area that you would like to teach con-
tact Sue or Linda at 757-5690.
