common knowledge that communication is essential in building harmonious relationships with

others, however, it becomes difficult due to the language barriers circulating around the globe.

There are many instances where people do not understand each other’s language which leads to

confusion and a great deal of friction. It is also a well-known fact that the most common driver

of cultural conflict is ethnocentrism. Instead of embracing cultural diversity, there are some

people who believe that their culture is the right and appropriate way and tend to interpret others’

behaviors, values, and beliefs through the lens of their own culture and way of life which often

results in actual hostilities and wars. Moreover, at the center of today’s prevalent cultural

conflicts and disconnection is a process of devaluing the less powerful. Dominant cultures have

continuously displayed outrage and discrimination against minor cultural groups. The dismissive

way they treat minorities is getting out of hand and has not yet been resolved until now.

Unfortunately, there are countless cultural conflicts that are still present despite the growing

volume of benefits provided by cultural diversity which itself speaks a lot about how there will

always be people who lack respect for other cultures and are reluctant to experience unique ways

of life.
