Project Goals
To implement the desktop virtualisation solution for the optimal performance and also for the
testing of different applications as virtualisation not only help to save the costs of the hardware
but also provide the facility of multiple platforms across the same.
Organisation
HUNE City Council is responsible for the welfare of the people and for managing a better lifestyle
for its people. The council is responsible for emergency management, media, publications, welfare
services, fines and infringements, legislation, town planning, leisure sports and recreation, libraries
and learning, waste management, building and construction.
2. Flexibility
The right virtualisation solution will allow an administrator to personalize and manage desktops
through a single interface, eliminating the need to drill down to individual desktops.
3. Ease of maintenance.
Virtualised desktops also allow for easier desktop maintenance. This not only prevents software
and customizations from slowing down the machine but also provides an easy way to
troubleshoot.
4. Desktop security
Desktop virtualisation allows the administrator to set permissions, preventing these documents
carrying Trojan horses from residing on the system. This provides, quite simply, peace of mind, as
well as easing maintenance costs.
5. Reduced costs
All of these benefits end up at the same place: reduced costs for the business.

Virtual Machine.
3. Select the type of virtual machine you want to create and click Next:
Note:
Custom: This gives you an option to create a virtual machine and choose its
hardware compatibility. You can choose from Workstation 16.x, Workstation
15.x, Workstation 14.x .
Typical: This creates a virtual machine which has the same hardware version as
the version of Workstation you are using. If you are using Workstation 16.x, it
creates a virtual machine with hardware version 16. If you are using Workstation
15.x a virtual machine with hardware version 15 is created.
