DEUTSCH
Ein ausführliches Gerätehandbuch befindet sich in elektronischer Form auf der mit-
gelieferten DVD.
Beachten Sie die Sicherheitshinweise im Gerätehandbuch!
1. Installation und Update

1. Legen Sie die DVD „KTM DIAGNOSTIC“ in das DVD-Laufwerk ein.
2. Das Setup Programm startet automatisch.
(Sie können auch im Unterverzeichnis DISK1\SETUP.EXE anklicken um das
Setup manuell zu starten).
3. Wählen Sie die Sprache in der Sie die Installation durchführen wollen.
4. Folgen Sie den Anweisungen am Bildschirm bis die Installation (das Update)
beendet ist.
5. Nur bei einer Erstinstallation:
Im Dialog „Auswahl der COM-Schnittstelle für X_Check“ wählen Sie die Option
„USB“.
6. Nach der Installation führen Sie einen Neustart des PCs durch.
Beachten Sie bitte, dass Sie nach der erstmaligen Softwareinstallation Punkte,
welche unter Punkt 2. Inbetriebnahme beschrieben sind, ausführen müssen!
2. Inbetriebnahme
1. Schließen Sie die X_Check Scan Box an eine USB-Schnittstelle Ihres PCs an
(siehe Abbildung).
2. Schließen Sie die X_Check Scan Box an die Diagnosebuchse des Fahrzeuges
an (siehe Abbildung).
Schalten Sie die Zündung des Fahrzeugs ein (bei manchen Fahrzeugen wird
durch das Anschließen des Diagnosekabels die Zündung aktiviert).
Die grüne und blaue Leuchtdiode der Scan Box leuchten, wenn die Scan Box
spannungsversorgt ist.
3. Lizenzierung der Software:
Zur Aktivierung der Software, muss diese mittels Lizenzfile frei geschaltet werden.
Ohne gültige Lizenzierung ist die Verwendung der Software nicht möglich. Der
gültige Lizenzschlüssel (Lizenzfile) ist für den mitgelieferten Dongle (= USB
Schlüssel zum Betreiben der Software) generiert.
Die Dongle-Nummer ist somit ein wichtiges Merkmal für den Betrieb der
Software. (Die Dongle-Nummer ist auf der Dongle Hardware eingraviert)

Bitte entnehmen Sie das, für Ihren Dongle passende Lizenzfile, der beigepackten
Diagnosesoftware-DVD. Ist kein passendes Lizenzfile beigestellt, können Sie im
Dealernet/Downloadcenter, anhand der Donglenummer, ihr passendes Lizenzfile abfra-
gen und herunterladen.
– beim erstmaligen Starten der Fahrzeugdiagnose erscheint eine Eingabemaske,
welche Sie zum Laden des passenden Lizenzfiles auffordert.
– wählen Sie das passende Lizenzfile aus, indem Sie auf „Suchen“ klicken.
– durch Drücken des Button „Start“ wird das ausgewählte Lizenzfile über-
nommen.

4. Automatische Schnittstellensuche:
Die Geräte Software ermittelt nun die Com Port Nummer (Schnittstellennum-

mer), an welcher die Scan Box angeschlossen wurde, und zeigt diese an.
– Klicken Sie auf: „Service“ danach „Setup“ um ins Setupmenü zu gelangen.
– Klicken Sie auf den Button „AutoCom“ Nach erfolgreichem Ermitteln der Com
Port Nummer, wird diese angezeigt. (Dieser Vorgang kann einige Minuten dau-
ern.)
– Nachdem die Schnittstelle gefunden wurde, klicken sie auf „Übernehmen“ um
diese zu speichern.
5. Aktualisieren der X_Check Firmware:
Beim Erstmaligen anschließen der X_Check Scan Box muss ein Firmware-
update durchgeführt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass die Firmware der Scanbox
mit der verwendeten Diagnosesoftware übereinstimmt.
– Klicken Sie auf „Service“ danach „XC_1 Scan Box-Update“ und bestätigen Sie
mit „Ja“.
3. Bluetooth®-Anbindung
3.1 Allgemein
Durch Verwendung der Funkverbindung „Bluetooth®“ entfällt der Anschluss der
X_Check Scan Box mit dem USB-Kabel an den PC!
Je nachdem, ob Sie einen PC mit integriertem Bluetooth®-Modul verwenden oder
einen externen Bluetooth®-Adapter einsetzen, kann das Einrichten der Bluetooth®
Verbindung unterschiedlich sein.
Beachten und befolgen Sie bitte hierzu immer die mitgelieferte Anleitung des PC-
bzw. Bluetooth®-Adapter-Herstellers!
Beachten Sie, dass das Firmware-Update der X_Check Scan Box und das „Flashen“
des Fahrzeug-Steuergerätes nicht über die Bluetooth®-Verbindung funktioniert! Die
Datenübertragung zwischen dem PC und der X_Check Scan Box hat hierzu über
das USB-Verbindungskabel zu erfolgen!

Umstellen von Bluetooth®-Verbindung auf USB-Kabelverbindung der X_Check Scan
Box zum PC:

– Verbinden Sie den PC und die X_Check Scan Box mit dem USB-Kabel und
deaktivieren Sie beim PC die Bluetooth® Verbindung.
– Schließen Sie die X_Check Scan Box an den Diagnosestecker des Fahrzeuges
an.
Schalten Sie die Zündung des Fahrzeugs ein (bei manchen Fahrzeugen wird
durch das Anschließen des Diagnosekabels die Zündung aktiviert).
– Klicken Sie auf: „Service“ danach „Setup“ um ins Setupmenü zu gelangen.
– Klicken Sie auf den Button „AutoCom“ Nach erfolgreichem Ermitteln der Com
Port Nummer, wird diese angezeigt (dieser Vorgang kann einige Minuten dau-
ern).
– Nachdem die Schnittstelle gefunden wurde, klicken sie auf „Übernehmen“ um
diese zu speichern.
– Führen Sie das Firmware-Update durch
– Klicken Sie auf „Service“ danach „XC_1 Scan Box-Update“ und bestäti-
gen Sie mit „Ja“.
– „Flashen“ des Fahrzeug-Steuergerätes: siehe Detailbeschreibung im Geräte-
handbuch.
– Trennen Sie die USB-Verbindung der X_Check Scan Box zum PC.
– Stellen sie, wenn gewünscht, die Datenübertragung zuwischen PC und der X_Check
Scan Box via Bluetooth® wieder her.
Bitte beachten Sie immer auch Angaben zur Schnittstellenkonfiguration, beschrie-

ben im Gerätehandbuch des PC- Herstellers.
Die automatische Schnittstellensuche über die „AutoCom“ Routine funktioniert nicht,

wenn die virtuelle COM- Schnittstellen Nummer, für Bluetooth® zugeordnet, höher
als COM 50 ist.
In diesem Falle deinstallieren Sie die Bluetooth®-Treiber und installieren Sie die-
sen Treiber neu.
Installieren Sie den Treiber über den Gerätemanager oder über den mitgelieferten
Datenträger des Bluetooth® Geräteherstellers (PC Herstellers).
Hinweis: PC Hersteller bieten Online Support mit Treiber Download Möglichkeiten.
Kontrollieren sie, ob neue Treiber für Ihr System zur Verfügung stehen.

3.2 Bluetooth® Verbindungseinstellungen

Vorbereitende Einstellung zur Bluetooth® Verbindung bei der Diagnosesoftware
Klicken Sie im Diagnoseprogramm auf „Service“ danach „Setup“ und aktivieren

Sie die Option Bluetooth® durch Anklicken der Auswahl „Bluetooth®“.
3.2.1 USB Bluetooth® Adapter, für PCs ohne integriertem Bluetooth® Modul
Installation:
1. Installieren Sie den USB Bluetooth® Adapter.
Beachten Sie hierzu, die Dokumentation des USB Bluetooth® Adapterherstellers
(je nach Bluetooth® Adapterhersteller verschieden).
Bluetooth® Verbindung herstellen:

1. Stecken Sie den USB Bluetooth® Adapter in die USB-Schnittstelle.
(Stellen Sie sicher, dass dieser ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde!)
2. Schließen Sie die X_Check Scan Box an den Diagnosestecker des Fahrzeuges
an. Schalten Sie die Zündung des Fahrzeugs ein. (Bei manchen Fahrzeugen
wird durch das Anschließen des Diagnosesteckers die Zündung aktiviert.)
3. Klicken Sie doppelt auf das Bluetooth®-Zeichen in der Windows Taskleiste,

um die Bluetooth® Anwendung (Bluetooth® Umgebung) zu starten.
4. Um in der Bluetooth® Umgebung nach verfügbaren Bluetooth® Geräten

zu suchen, wählen Sie die Option „Geräte in Reichweite anzeigen“.
5. Eventuell erscheinen mehrere Bluetooth®-Geräte zur Auswahl.

Klicken Sie doppelt auf das Symbol (XXXX = Seriennummer
der X_Check Scan Box).
6. Klicken Sie doppelt auf das Symbol

um eine serielle Verbindung mit dem X_Check Scan Box, via Bluetooth® auf-
zunehmen.
7. Nach erfolgreicher Verbindung erscheint die Meldung: „Neue Hardware wurde

gefunden“.

8. Danach erscheint das Symbol welches Sie mit „OK“ bestätigen.

Sollten die Verbindungspfeile im Symbol nicht erscheinen, so kon-
trollieren Sie bitte folgende Verbindungseigenschaften:
– Öffnen Sie die Bluetooth® Anwendung (Bluetooth® Umgebung).
– Klicken Sie auf „Bluetooth®“ und „Bluetooth®-Konfiguration“.
– Klicken Sie auf „Client-Anwendungen“ danach „Serieller Bluetooth®-Anschluss“

und danach auf „Eigenschaften“.
– Deaktivieren Sie die Option „sichere Verbindung“ und bestätigen Sie mit „OK“.
– Wiederholen Sie Schritte 5 bis 9 um die Bluetooth® Verbindung herzustellen.
Die Bluetooth® Schnittstelle wurde somit installiert. Schließen Sie alle geöffneten
Fenster und nehmen Sie die CD aus dem Laufwerk.
9. Klicken Sie auf „Service“ danach „Setup“ um ins Setupmenü zu gelangen.
10. Klicken Sie auf den Button „AutoCom“ Nach erfolgreichem Ermitteln der Com

3.2.2 PC mit integriertem Bluetooth®

Wir empfehlen den Einsatz der (integrierten) Bluetooth®-Hardware in Verbindung mit

einer Kommunikationssoftware (Bluetooth®-Stack) der Firma Broadcom / Widcom.
(Welcher Bluetooth®-Stack Hersteller verbaut ist, finden Sie im Geräte Manager-
Bluetooth® Geräte unter Eigenschaften)
Bluetooth® Verbindung herstellen:

1. Aktivieren Sie die Bluetooth® Kommunikationshardware des PCs (je nach
Bluetooth® Hersteller verschieden; Sondertastenkombination bzw. Hardware-
schalter o.ä.).
2 Klicken Sie doppelt auf das Bluetooth®-Zeichen, um die Bluetooth®

Anwendung (Bluetooth® Umgebung) zu starten.
3. Um in der Bluetooth® Umgebung nach verfügbaren Bluetooth® Geräten

zu suchen, wählen Sie die Option „Geräte in Reichweite anzeigen“ oder
„Neue Bluetooth® Geräte hinzufügen“
4. Die gefundenen Bluetooth®-Geräte werden angezeigt.

Wählen Sie die DiOBD 880-XXXX (XXXX = Seriennummer der X_Check Scan
Box) aus, indem Sie das angezeigte Symbol doppelt anklicken.
5. Aktivieren Sie für DiOBD 880-XXXX den Dienst „AT Serial“.
6. Stellen Sie Sicher, dass für diese Verbindung das sog. „Pairing“ abgeschaltet
ist. Die X_Check Scan Box benötigt kein Passwort (kein Hauptschlüssel) um
den Dienst zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Nachdem die Bluetooth® Schnittstelle eingerichtet wurde:

Please note the safety instructions in the device manual!
1. Installation and update

1. Insert the "KTM DIAGNOSTIC" DVD into the DVD drive.
2. The setup program starts automatically.
(You can also click on SETUP.EXE in the DISK1 subdirectory to start the setup
program manually).

3. Select the language in which you would like to perform the installation.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen until the installation (the update) is
finished.
5. For initial installation only:
In the "COM interface selection for X_Check" dialog, select the "USB" option.
6. After installation is completed, restart the PC.
Please note that after installing the software for the first time, you need to exe-
cute the steps described under Point 2: Starting up the software!
2. Starting up the software

1. Connect the X_Check Scan Box to a USB interface of your PC
(see illustration).
2. Connect the X_Check Scan Box to the diagnostics connector of the vehicle (see
illustration).
Switch on the vehicle ignition. (In some vehicles, connecting the diagnosis cable
starts the ignition.)
The green and the blue LED of the Scan Box light up when the Scan Box is
supplied with power.
3. Licensing of the software
To activate the software, it must be registered with the license file. The soft-
ware cannot be used without a valid license. The valid license key (license file)
is gene-rated for the dongle (= USB key to use the software) supplied.
The dongle number is therefore an important feature without which the soft-
ware will not operate (The dongle number is engraved into the dongle).

Please find the appropriate license file for your dongle in the diagnostics software
(DVD) supplied. If no suitable license file is included, you can request and down-
load the according license file from Dealernet / Download center, by referring to
the dongle number.
– The first time vehicle diagnostics is started up a screen appears that prompts
you to load the according license file.
– Select the according license file by clicking on "Search".
– By pressi ng the "Start" button the selected license file is accepted.

4. Automatic interface search:
The device software now determines the Com Port Number (interface number)
to which the Scan Box was connected and displays it..
– Click on: "Service" followed by "Setup" to enter the setup menu.
– Click on the "AutoCom" button. The Com Port Number is displayed after it has
been determined. (This procedure may take several minutes.)
– After the interface has been found, click on "Apply" to save it.
5. Updating the X_Check firmware:

When X_Check Scan Box is connected for the first time, a firmware update
must be performed to ensure that the firmware of the Scan Box matches the
diagnosis software in use.
– Click on "Service" followed by "XC_1 Scan Box-Update" and confirm with "Yes".
3. Bluetooth® connection
3.1 General information
When you use the "Bluetooth®" wireless connection, the X_Check Scan Box does
not need to be connected to the PC with the USB cable!
The Bluetooth® setup procedure may vary depending on whether you are using a
PC with an integrated Bluetooth® module or an external Bluetooth® adapter.
Please note and follow the instructions provided by the PC or Bluetooth® manufac-
turer!
! Please note that the firmware update of the X_Check Scan Box and "flashing" of
the vehicle control unit cannot be performed via the Bluetooth® connection!
The data transmission between the PC and the X_Check Scan Box must take place
via the USB connection cable!

To change from the Bluetooth® connection to the USB cable connection between
the X_Check Scan Box and the PC:
– Connect the PC and the X_Check Scan Box with the USB cable and deactivate
the Bluetooth® connection on the PC.
– Connect the X_Check Scan Box to the diagnostics connector of the vehicle.
Switch on the vehicle ignition. (In some vehicles, connecting the diagnosis cable
starts the ignition.)
The green and the blue LED of the Scan Box light up when the Scan Box is
supplied with power.

– Click on: "Service" followed by "Setup" to enter the setup menu.

been determined. (This procedure can take several minutes.)
– After the interface has been found, click on "Apply" to save it.
– Perform the firmware update.
– Click on "Service" followed by "XC_1 Scan Box-Update" and confirm with
"Yes".
– "Flashing" the vehicle control unit: see the detailed description in the device
manual.
– Disconnect the USB connection of the X_Check Scan Box to the PC.
– If desired, reestablish the data transmission between the PC and the X_Check
Scan Box via Bluetooth®.
Please note the information on the interface configuration described in the device
manual from the PC manufacturer.
The automatic interface search via the "AutoCom" routine will not function if the
virtual COM interface number assigned to Bluetooth® is higher than COM 50.
In this case, uninstall the Bluetooth® driver and reinstall it.
Install the driver via the device manager or via the data medium provided by the
Bluetooth® device manufacturer (PC manufacturer).
Note: PC manufacturers offer online support with the option to download drivers.
Check whether new drivers are available for your system.

3.2 Bluetooth® connection settings

Initial settings for the Bluetooth® connection in the diagnosis software
In the diagnosis program, click on "Service" followed by "Setup" and activate the
Bluetooth® option by clicking on the "Bluetooth®" selection.
3.2.1 USB Bluetooth® adapter, for PCs without an integrated Bluetooth® module
Installation:

1. Install the USB Bluetooth® adapter.

Note the documentation provided by the USB Bluetooth® adapter manufacturer.
(It can vary depending on the Bluetooth® adapter manufacturer.)
Establishing the Bluetooth® connection:

1. Insert the USB Bluetooth® adapter into the USB interface.
(Ensure that it has been installed correctly!)
2. Connect the X_Check Scan Box to the diagnostics connector of the vehicle.
Switch on the vehicle ignition. (In some vehicles, connecting the diagnostics
connector starts the ignition.) The green and the blue LED of the Scan Box
light up if the Scan Box is supplied with power.
3. Double-click on the Bluetooth® icon in the Windows taskbar to start the

Bluetooth® application (Bluetooth® environment).
4. To search for available Bluetooth® devices in the Bluetooth® environment,

select the "Display devices in range" option.
5. Several Bluetooth® devices made appear for selection.

Double-click on the symbol.
(XXXX= serial number of the X_Check Scan Box)
6. Double-click on the symbol

to establish a serial connection with the X_Check Scan Box via Bluetooth®.
7. After connection is successful, the following message appears: "New hardware

found".

8. Then the symbol appears which you confirm with "OK".
If the connection arrows do not appear in the symbol, please check

the following connection properties:
– Open the Bluetooth® application (Bluetooth® environment).
– Click on "Bluetooth®" and "Bluetooth® Configuration".
– Click on "Client Applications" followed by "Serial Bluetooth® Connection" and

then on "Properties".
– Deactivate the "Secure Connection" option and confirm with "OK".
– Repeat steps 5 to 9 to establish the Bluetooth® connection.
The Bluetooth® interface is now installed. Close all open windows and remove the
CD from the drive.
9. Click on: "Service" followed by "Setup" to enter the setup menu.
10. Click on the "AutoCom" button. The Com Port Number is displayed after it has

3.2.2 PC with integrated Bluetooth®
We recommend the use of the (integrated) Bluetooth® hardware in connection with

communications software (Bluetooth® stack) of the Broadcom/Widcom company.
(Which Bluetooth® stack manufacturer is integrated in the system can be found in
Device Manager - Bluetooth® Manager under Properties.)
Establishing the Bluetooth® connection:

1. Activate the Bluetooth® communications hardware of the PC.
(Varies depending on the Bluetooth® manufacturer; special key combination,

hardware switch, or similar)
2. Double-click on the Bluetooth® icon to start the Bluetooth® application

(Bluetooth® environment).
3. To search for available Bluetooth® devices in the Bluetooth® environment,

select the "Display devices in range" or "Add new Bluetooth® devices"
option
4. The identified Bluetooth® devices are displayed.

Select the DiOBD 880-XXXX (XXXX = serial number of the X_Check Scan Box)
by double-clicking on the displayed symbol.
5. Activate the "AT Serial" service for DiOBD 880-XXXX.
6 . Ensure that the so-called "pairing" is switched off for this connection.The
X_Check Scan Box does not require a password (no main key) to make the serv-
ice available.
After the Bluetooth® interface has been set up:

1. Installazione e aggiornamento
1. Inserire il DVD „KTM DIAGNOSTIC“ nel lettore DVD.
2. Il programma di setup si avvia automaticamente.
(Per avviare manualmente il setup è anche possibile fare clic nella sottocar-
tella DISK1\SETUP.EXE).
3. Scegliere la lingua in cui si desidera eseguire l'installazione.
4. Seguire le istruzioni sullo schermo sino a quando l'installazione (aggiornamento)
non sarà conclusa.
5. Solo in caso di prima installazione:
selezionare l'opzione "USB" nella finestra di dialogo "Selezione interfaccia COM
per X_Check".

Dopo aver installato il software per la prima volta, occorre eseguire i passaggi
descritti al Punto 2: Attivazione.
2. Attivazione
1. Collegare la X_Check Scan Box a un'interfaccia USB del computer (vedi figura).

3. Gestione licenze del software
Il software deve essere attivato attraverso un file di licenza. Non è possibile
utilizzarlo senza una licenza valida. Il codice di licenza (file di licenza) viene
generato in funzione del dongle fornito in dotazione (= chiavetta USB neces-
saria per l'utilizzo del software).
Il numero di serie del dongle è pertanto un elemento importante per il corretto
funzionamento del software (Il numero di serie è inciso sulla chiavetta).

Il file di licenza associato al dongle è contenuto nel DVD del software di diagnosi
fornito in dotazione. Qualora non fosse presente un file di licenza adatto, è possi-
bile richiederlo e scaricarlo tramite Dealernet/Centro download, specificando il
numero di serie del dongle.
– Al primo avvio della diagnosi veicolo apparirà una maschera d'inserimento
attraverso la quale si dovrà caricare il proprio file di licenza.
– Selezionare il file di licenza facendo clic sul pulsante "Cerca".
– Per utilizzare il file di licenza selezionato premere il pulsante "Avvio".

4. Ricerca automatica dell'interfaccia:
Il software del dispositivo rileverà e visualizzerà ora il numero di porta COM
(numero di interfaccia) a cui è stata collegata la Scan Box.
– Fare clic su: "Assistenza" quindi su "Setup" per passare al menu di setup.
– Fare clic sul pulsante "AutoCom". Dopo aver determinato correttamente il
numero della porta, verrà visualizzata la porta Com corrispondente (quest'ope-
razione potrebbe richiedere alcuni minuti).

5. Aggiornamento del firmware X_Check:
Dopo aver collegato per la prima volta la X_Check Scan Box occorre eseguire
un aggiornamento del firmware allo scopo di accertarsi che il firmware della
Scan Box corrisponda al firmware del software di diagnosi utilizzato.
– Fare clic su "Assistenza", successivamente su "XC_1 Update scan box" e infine
confermare con "Sì".

3. Connessione Bluetooth®
3.1 Generalità
L'utilizzo della connessione "Bluetooth®" consente di fare a meno della connessione
della X_Check Scan Box al computer tramite cavo USB.
L'installazione della connessione Bluetooth® può variare a seconda che si utilizzi
un computer con modulo Bluetooth® integrato o un adattatore Bluetooth® esterno.
Consultare e seguire sempre le istruzioni fornite dal produttore dell'adattatore
Bluetooth® e del computer!
Attenzione! L'aggiornamento del firmware della X_Check Scan Box e il

"flashing" della centralina del veicolo non funzionano tramite connessione Bluetooth®!
Il trasferimento dati tra il computer e la X_Check Scan Box deve avvenire quindi
tramite il cavo di collegamento USB.

il numero di interfaccia COM virtuale attribuito al Bluetooth® è superiore a COM 50.
In questo caso, disinstallare il driver Bluetooth® e installarlo nuovamente.
Installare il driver da Gestione periferiche oppure utilizzando il supporto dati for-

nito dal produttore del dispositivo Bluetooth® (produttore PC).
Nota: i produttori di PC offrono un supporto online con la possibilità di effettuare

il download del driver. Controllare se il nuovo driver è disponibile per il sistema.

Impostazioni preliminari per la connessione Bluetooth® con il software di diagnosi
Nel programma di diagnosi fare clic su "Assistenza" e successivamente su "Setup".

Attivare l'opzione Bluetooth® facendo clic sulla selezione "Bluetooth®".
3.2.1 Adattatore Bluetooth® USB per computer senza modulo Bluetooth® integrato
Installazione:
1. Installare l'adattatore Bluetooth® USB.
Consultare a tale scopo la documentazione del produttore dell'adattatore USB
(diverso per ciascuna casa produttrice).
Connessione Bluetooth®:
1. Inserire l'adattatore Bluetooth® USB nell'interfaccia USB.

– fare clic su "Bluetooth®" e su "Configurazione Bluetooth®";
– fare clic su "Applicazioni Client", "Connessione Bluetooth® seriale" e successi-

vamente su "Proprietà";
– disattivare l'opzione "Connessione sicura" e confermare con "OK";
– ripetere i passaggi da 5 a 9 per effettuare il collegamento Bluetooth®.
L'interfaccia Bluetooth® è stata installata. Chiudere tutte le finestre aperte e rimuo-

vere il CD dal lettore.

Si consiglia di utilizzare l'hardware Bluetooth® (integrato) unitamente a un soft-

ware di comunicazione (stack Bluetooth®) dell'azienda Broadcom / Widcom.

Connessione Bluetooth®
1. Attivare l'hardware di comunicazione Bluetooth® del computer
(diverso per ogni produttore Bluetooth®; combinazione tasti speciale o inter-
ruttore hardware ecc.).

Généralités
Le DVD contient un manuel d'instruction électronique qui décrit en détail l'appa-
reil de commande.
Respecter les consignes de sécurité du manuel de l'appareil !
1. Installation et mise à jour

1 . Insérer le DVD « KTM DIAGNOSTIC » dans le lecteur de DVD.
2. Le programme d'installation démarre automatiquement.
(Pour lancer le programme d'installation manuellement, cliquer dans le sous-
répertoire sur DISK1\SETUP.EXE).
3. Choisir le langage dans lequel l'installation doit être exécutée.
4. Suivre les instructions à l'écran jusqu'à ce que l'installation (la mise à jour)
soit terminée.
5. Seulement lors de la première installation :
Dans le dialogue « Sélection de l'interface COM pour X_Check », sélectionner
l'option « USB ».
6. Après l'installation, redémarrer le PC.
Attention : lors de la première installation du logiciel, certains points décrit au

Point 2 : Mise en service devront être exécutés.
2. Mise en service
1. Raccorder la X_Check Scan Box à un port USB du PC (voir illustration).

illustration).
Activer l'allumage du véhicule. (Sur certains véhicules, la connexion du câble
de diagnostic déclenche l'allumage.)
Les diodes luminescente verte et bleu de la Scan Box s'allument lorsque la
Scan Box est alimentée en tension.
3. Licence du logiciel
Pour être activé, le logiciel doit être activé au moyen du fichier de licence.
Sans une licence en cours de validité, l'utilisation du logiciel est impossible.
La clé de licence valable est générée spécialement pour le Dongle (= clé USB
permettant l'utilisation du logiciel) livré.
Le numéro de Dongle constitue donc un élément essentiel à l'utilisation du
logiciel (Le numéro de Dongle est gravé sur le périphérique).

Le fichier de licence correspondant à votre Dongle est fourni sur le DVD du pro-

– Lorsque l'interface a été identifiée, cliquer sur « Confirmer » pour la

5. Actualiser le progiciel X_Check :
Lors du premier raccordement de la X_Check Scan Box, effectuer une mise à
jour du proligiciel pour s'assurer que le progiciel de la Scanbox correspond au
programme de diagnostic utilisé.
– Cliquer sur « Service », puis sur « Mise à jour Scan Box XC_1 » et confirmer
en cliquant sur « Oui ».
3. Connexion Bluetooth®
3.1 Généralités
FRANCAIS
En cas de connexion radio « Bluetooth® », il n'est plus nécessaire de raccorder la

X_Check Scan Box au PC via un câble USB.
L'installation de la connexion Bluetooth® sera différente en fonction de si le PC est
équipé d'un module Bluetooth® intégré ou qu'un adaptateur externe Bluetooth® est
utilisé.
À cet effet, respecter et suivre les instructions du fabricant du PC ou de l'adapta-
teur Bluetooth® jointes à la livraison.
! Attention : La mise à jour du progiciel de la X_Check Scan Box et le « Flashing »

du boîtier de commande du véhicule ne fonctionnent pas via la connexion Bluetooth®!
Dans ce cas, la transmission de données entre le PC et la X_Check Scan Box doit
se faire via le câble USB !

PC.
La recherche automatique d'interface via la routine « AutoCom » ne fonctionne pas

lorsque le numéro d'interface COM virtuelle assigné à Bluetooth® est supérieur à
COM 50.
Dans ce cas, désinstaller le pilote Bluetooth ® et procéder à une nouvelle
installation.
Installer le pilote via le gestionnaire d'appareils ou via le support de données du
fabricant de l'appareil Bluetooth® (fabricant du PC).
Remarque : les fabricants de PC proposent une aide en ligne avec la possibilité de
télécharger des pilotes. Contrôler si de nouveaux pilotes sont disponibles pour le
système.

Réglage avant établissement de la connexion Bluetooth® pour le programme de
diagnostic
Dans le logiciel de diagnostic, cliquer sur « Service » puis « Setup», et activer l'op-
tion Bluetooth® en cliquant sur la sélection « Bluetooth® ».
3.2.1 Adaptateur USB Bluetooth® pour les PC sans module Bluetooth® intégré
Installation:
1. Installer l'adaptateur USB Bluetooth®.
Consulter à cet effet la documentation du fabricant de l'adaptateur USB

phérique détecté » apparaît.

8. Puis le symbole apparaît. Le confirmer avec « OK ».
Si la flèche de connexion n'apparaît pas dans le symbol , contrôler

les propriétés de connexion suivantes :
– Ouvrir l'application Bluetooth® (environnement Bluetooth®).
– Cliquer sur « Bluetooth® » et « Configuration Bluetooth® ».
– Cliquer sur « Application client » puis « Connexion Bluetooth® sérielle » puis

sur « Propriétés » .
– Désactiver l'option « Connexion sécurisée » et confirmer avec « OK ».
– Répéter les étapes 5 à 9 pour établir la connexion Bluetooth®.
L'installation de l'interface Bluetooth® est alors terminée. Fermer toutes les fenê-
tres et retirer le CD du lecteur.
9. Cliquer sur : « Service » puis sur « Setup» pour accéder au menu Installation.

Nous recommandons l'utilisation de matériel Bluetooth® (intégré) associé à un logi-

ciel de communication (Bluetooth® stack) de la société Broadcom / Widcom.
(Le fabricant du stack Bluetooth® intégré est indiqué dans le gestionnaire de péri-
phériques Bluetooth® sous Propriétés)
Établir la connexion Bluetooth® :

1. Activer le partagiciel de communication Bluetooth® du PC.
(Activation différente en fonction du fabricant Bluetooth® : combinaison de tou-
ches spéciales ou bouton sur le périphérique.)
2. Double-cliquer sur le symbole Bluetooth® pour lancer l'application

Bluetooth® (environnement Bluetooth®).
3. Pour lancer la recherche de périphériques Bluetooth® disponibles dans

l'environnement Bluetooth®, sélectionner l'option « Afficher les périphé-
riques détectés » ou « Ajouter de nouveaux périphériques Bluetooth® ».
4. Les appareils Bluetooth® identifiés sont affichés.

Sélectionner le DiOBD 880-XXXX (XXXX = numéro de série de la X_Check Scan
Box) en double-cliquant le symbole affiché.
5. Pour le DiOBD 880-XXXX, activer le service « AT Serial ».
6. S'assurer que l'option « Appairage » est bien désactivée pour cette connexion.
La X_Check Scan Box ne nécessite aucun mot de passe (pas de clé principale)
pour mettre le service à disposition.

Generalidades
En el DVD que ha recibido con el equipo encontrará un manual detallado en for-
mato electrónico. Tenga en cuenta las advertencias de seguridad que contiene el
manual del usuario.
1. Instalación y actualización
1. Introduzca el DVD "HUSABERG DIAGNOSTIC" en la unidad lectora de DVD.
2. El programa de Configuración se inicia automáticamente.
(También es posible iniciar a mano el programa de Setup haciendo clic en el
fichero DISK1\SETUP.EXE en el directorio correspondiente.)
3. Seleccione el idioma que prefiera para la instalación.
4. Siga las instrucciones que se muestran en la pantalla hasta que haya finali-
zado la instalación (la actualización).
5. Sólo para la instalación inicial:
seleccione la opción "USB" en la pantalla de diálogo "Seleccionar la interfaz
COM para el X_Check".
6. Después de la instalación tiene que reiniciar el ordenador.
Tenga en cuenta que después de la primera instalación del software hay que
llevar a cabo las operaciones descritas bajo el Punto 2 : Puesta en servicio.
2. Puesta en servicio
1. Conecte la X_Check Scan Box a un puerto USB de su ordenador. Véase
ilustración.
2. Conecte la X_Check Scan Box al enchufe de diagnóstico del vehículo (hembri-
lla). Véase ilustración.
Conecte el encendido del vehículo. (En algunos vehículos, el encendido se activa
al conectar el cable de diagnóstico.)
Los diodos luminoso verde e azul en la Scan Box brillan siempre que la Scan
Box está conectada a una fuente de alimentación eléctrica.
3. Licencia de software
El software debe activarse mediante el archivo de licencia. No será posible uti-

lizar el software sin una licencia válida. La clave de licencia válida (archivo de
licencia) está generada para el dongle suministrado (= llave USB para activar
el software).
De esta forma, el número de dongle es una propiedad importante para activar
el software (El número de dongle está grabado en el hardware del dongle).

Para obtener el archivo de licencia adecuado para su dongle, consulte el DVD del
software de diagnóstico suministrado. Si no está disponible ningún archi-vo de licen-
cia adecuado, podrá solicitar y descargar uno válido para usted mediante el número
de dongle en el Dealernet/Downloadcenter.
– Al iniciar por primera vez el diagnóstico del vehículo aparece una máscara de
introducción que le requerirá cargar el archivo de licencia adecuado.
– Seleccione el archivo de licencia adecuado haciendo clic en "Buscar".
– Pulsando el botón "Inicio", se aplicará el archivo de licencia seleccionado.

4. Búsqueda automática de interfaces:
El software del equipo determina ahora el número del puerto de comunicación
(número de la interfaz), al que se ha conectado la Scan Box y lo muestra en la
pantalla.
– Haga clic en: "Servicio" y a continuación en "Configuración" para acceder al
menú de Configuración.
– Haga clic en el botón "AutoCom". Se determina el número del puerto de comu-
nicación y se visualiza en la pantalla. (Esta operación puede durar unos
minutos.)
– Una vez identificada la interfaz, haga clic en "Aceptar" para guardar este dato.
5. Actualizar el firmware de X_Check:
La primera vez que se conecta la X_Check Scan Box hay que llevar a cabo una
actualización del firmware, para garantizar que el firmware del Scanbox es com-
patible con el software de diagnóstico utilizado.
– Haga clic en "Servicio" y a continuación en "Actualización XC_1 Scan Box" y
confirme la pregunta con "Sí".
3. Conexión mediante Bluetooth®

3.1 Generalidades
Si se utiliza una conexión inalámbrica "Bluetooth®" se suprime la conexión de la
X_Check Scan Box al PC utilizando un cable USB.
La configuración de la conexión vía Bluetooth® depende del tipo de hardware uti-
lizado: un PC con módulo Bluetooth® integrado o un adaptador externo Bluetooth®.
Tenga en cuenta y siga las instrucciones que ha recibido del fabricante del orde-
nador o del adaptador Bluetooth®.
¡Tenga en cuenta que la actualización del firmware de la X_Check Scan Box y Flashing
ESPAÑOL
de la unidad de mando del vehículo no pueden llevarse a cabo por medio de una
conexión Bluetooth®.
Para las operaciones citadas hay que utilizar una conexión por cable USB entre el
PC y la X_Check Scan Box para la transmisión de datos.

se describen en el manual del fabricante del PC.
La búsqueda automática de interfaces con el programa "AutoCom" no funciona si

el número virtual de interfaz COM asignado a Bluetooth® es mayor de COM 50.
En ese caso tiene que eliminar el programa controlador de Bluetooth® e instalarlo
de nuevo.
Instale el controlador utilizando el panel de control o el soporte de datos que haya
recibido del fabricante del adaptador Bluetooth® (o del fabricante del PC).

descargar controladores. Compruebe si existen controladores nuevos o actualiza-

3.2 Ajustes de la conexión Bluetooth®

Ajuste previo para la conexión Bluetooth® en el software de diagnóstico
Haga clic en el programa de diagnóstico en "Servicio" y a continuación en "Configuración"

y active la opción Bluetooth® haciendo clic en la selección "Bluetooth®".
3.2.1 Adaptador USB Bluetooth®, para PCs sin módulo Bluetooth® integrado
Instalación:
1. Instale el adaptador USB Bluetooth®.
Tenga en cuenta la documentación del fabricante del adaptador USB Bluetooth®.
(Puede ser diferente de un fabricante de adaptadores a otro.)
Establecer la conexión Bluetooth®:

1 . Enchufe el adaptador USB Bluetooth® a un puerto USB.
(Tiene que asegurarse de que está correctamente instalado)
2 . Conecte la X_Check Scan Box al enchufe de diagnóstico del vehículo.

siguientes propiedades de la conexión:
– Abra la aplicación Bluetooth® (dispositivos Bluetooth®).
– Haga clic en "Bluetooth®" y "Configuración Bluetooth®".
– Haga clic en "Aplicaciones cliente", a continuación en "Conexión serial Bluetooth®"

y seguidamente en "Propiedades".
– Desactive la opción "Conexión segura" y confirme con "OK".
– Repita los pasos 5 a 9 para establecer la conexión Bluetooth®.
Con ello se ha instalado la interfaz Bluetooth®. Cierre todas las ventanas abiertas
y extraiga el CD de la unidad lectora.
9. Haga clic en: "Servicio" y a continuación en "Configuración" para acceder al

3.2.2 PC con Bluetooth® integrado
Recomendamos el uso del hardware Bluetooth® integrado en combinación con un

software para comunicación (Bluetooth®-Stack) de la empresa Broadcom / Widcom.
(En el Administrador de dispositivos - Dispositivos Bluetooth® - Propiedades encon-
trará el nombre del fabricante del Bluetooth® - Stack)
Establecer la conexión Bluetooth®:

1. Active el hardware de comunicación Bluetooth® del PC.
(En función del fabricante de Bluetooth®, puede ser necesario para ello pulsar
una combinación de teclas determinada o activar una tecla.)
2. Haga doble clic en el símbolo de Bluetooth® para iniciar la aplicación

Bluetooth® (dispositivos Bluetooth®).
3. Para buscar dispositivos en el entorno Bluetooth®, seleccione la opción

"Mostrar dispositivos disponibles" o bien "Agregar dispositivos Bluetooth®".
4. Se muestran los dispositivos Bluetooth® localizados.

Seleccione DiOBD 880-XXXX (XXXX = número de serie de la X_Check Scan
Box) haciendo doble clic en el símbolo que se muestra.
5. Active el servicio "AT Serial" para DiOBD 880-XXXX.
6. Asegúrese de que se ha desconectado la opción "Pairing" para esta conexión.

La X_Check Scan Box no precisa ninguna clave de acceso (clave principal) para
poner a disposición este servicio.
Una vez configurada la interfaz Bluetooth®:
7. Haga clic en : "Servicio" y a continuación en "Configuración" para acceder al
