Dear members of Selection Committee,

With this letter of motivation, I express my interest and present my candidature to study the
Master’s course of Management and Technology at your prestigious and renowned university
Technical University of Munich.

I have been taking a keen interest in the field of engineering since my childhood. Ever since I was
in school, I used to imagine that how all the things are made, by which methods and techniques,
and this is what triggered my fascination for a Production Engineering and my ambition is to
carve a niche for myself in this field as well as serve the industry with the help of my technical
skills.
Since my childhood, I have been a very active and energetic person. Along with my academics, I have also
managed to spend time for some of my hobbies such as playing cricket and handball, photography and
travelling. In fact, it was because of these hobbies, I always excelled in my academics as they helped me to
gain new experiences and improve myself continuously. My uncle, being an engineer in a company,
introduced me with the machines first time, when I was 10. My introduction with the machines was done
through the industrial visit. He also taught me all the small but fun things that we can do in the machine like
changing the mechanical parts, changing the coolant, inserting a new command for making different types
of parts and many similar things. With the introduction of the internet, I was empowered to do many
interesting things as I could excess the information from any part of this world within a few seconds. Since
then, I started to explore the whole new world of the machines and became a self-taught techie.

Growing up, I started to take a keen interest in technology. Basically, I wanted to know each and every thing
that the current technology has to offer and also about the potential that it contains. I started to follow all the
tech shows that appeared on the television, followed many YouTube channels that provided information
about the technology and also read the tech related blogs from the internet. Every time, I used to get
surprised after learning about how a high-tech machine could empower a person to do things that are very
difficult and challenging otherwise but could be done very easily and effectively with the help of technology.
This was the period when my passion for the technology grew exponentially and I started to indulge myself in
it, even more than ever before. Soon, I gathered enough knowledge on the current technology that I became
a tech advisor in my family and relatives as many of them had a very limited knowledge about it.
During my secondary education in 2013-2014, as I always wanted to explore new things, apart from my
academics, I chose to join NCC (National Cadet Corps) which is two year program for school, higher
secondary, college and university students, which offers a basic military training for two years and national
camp under Ministry of Defense, Government of India, and that training taught me Unity, Discipline,
Leadership and Team work. Moreover, I also served my high school’s under 16 and Under 19 Handball team.
After my higher secondary education, I decided to stick with my passion for technology and enrolled
myself in Bachelor of Engineering in Production Engineering program at one of the best institutes for
engineering in my city, Government Engineering College Bhavnagar (affiliated to Gujarat Technological
University). During this course, my limits were challenged and my character was shaped in a positive way. The
biggest thing that surprised me at first was the enormous potential and the talent people had. Before that, I
had not experienced such a large community of talented people. As time passed by, I made many incredible
friends who taught me many interesting things that I was unaware of. I attended many helpful seminars in the
area related to my interests and educated myself with the wide range of opportunities available in the world.
Along with strong technical guidance, my institute also provided me an excellent opportunity to explore
different activities and improve my interpersonal skills by participating in many events held in the campus.
These activities helped me to become a team-player and improved my management abilities.
Nevertheless, my career development is not yet complete. I want to bring out
my potential higher. Therefore, I aim to pursue master degree as my next target.
By taking master degree, I expect to obtain specialized knowledge which I
barely obtained during my previous undergraduate study as well as professional
career. My major interests are in Programming Languages, API Development,
Embedded Systems, Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing.
Upon graduating, I want to apply my knowledge as a specialist in the industry. I
am also considering pursuing doctorate degree to establish my position in
academic and research.

TUM came into my attention as it is one of the top schools for science in
Germany which provides programs taught in English. TUM also has several
research groups which I find very interesting, such as TUM Living Lab
Connected Mobility, which aims to build technology for smart mobility.
Legalize project is also very aligned with my interest and research during my
undergraduate study which incorporates Natural Language Processing and
Information Retrieval techniques. Combining those research areas and excellent
academic environment, TUM will be a perfect campus for me to learn and
develop myself to become an expert in this field.
