STARCRAFT II GAME UNITS OVERSEER

Previous Zerg Unit: Baneling Next Zerg Unit: Roach

UNITS

OVERSEER
Overseers are genetically altered
Overlords who that have a mass of
additional sockets filled with highly
evolved optical receptors with
hypersensitive retinas. These
“eyes” have been through much
iteration, each developmental cycle
improving upon the preceding
one’s optical evolution. The Zerg
are obsessed with detecting subtler motions and more
advanced camouflage techniques, and this latest evolution
allows the Overseer to detect any hidden enemy units,
including those that are burrowed underground or cloaked.
Perhaps most disturbing are reports that Overseers can
either carry or give birth to Changelings, infiltrator
organisms that can convincingly mimic enemy Zerg,
Terrans, or Protoss.

Attributes: Armored - Biological Build time: 17

GENERAL STRATEGY

Mobile detection unit.

STRONG AGAINST
Can detect cloaked and burrowed units.
Very fast movement speed compared to Overlords; ideal for scouting.

Can spawn the ’Changeling’ unit in order to infiltrate enemy bases or

troop movements.
Banshee Roach Dark Templar
Can contaminate enemy structures, temporarily preventing them from
training new units or researching upgrades.
WEAK AGAINST

Viking Mutalisk Stalker

COUNTERMEASURES

VS Terran

Strong anti-air units like Vikings can tear through Overseers extremely
quickly.

Static air defenses like Missile Turrets (particularly turrets with the Hi-Sec
Auto Tracking upgrade) can be an effective deterrent against Overseers.

VS Zerg

Queens at your base can take down Overseers, while patrolling groups of
Hydralisks deal enough damage to eliminate them before they can learn

about your base defenses or production.

Because of their speed, Mutalisks can also serve as effective pursuers for
groups of Overseers.

VS Protoss

Overseer - Game - StarCraft II

Stalkers represent some of your earliest defenses against Overseers. Their

blink ability ensures that they’ll be able to intercept and chase down
Overseers quickly.

Void rays do extra damage to Overseers, so if you have them, use them to
make short work of Overseers.

Hakutsuru 1/30/11 6:15 AM

the only reason I don't dt rush the zerg

Morpheus 1/17/11 11:27 PM

You do an amazing thing called clicking on "Zerg" instead of "Terran"

zergkiller 1/15/11 9:56 PM

hey i am new here and i thought may be you guys could be nice and tell me how you change from terran to zerg?

Will 1/27/11 4:42 AM

@zergkiller: If your talking about your portrait you have to earn them and change it in your profile.

chimcharbich 12/31/10 9:28 PM

their face looks like isaccs helment in dead space

SikE 12/21/10 11:57 PM

changeling obvious op, IT CANT DIE AFTER 150 SECONDS PEOPLE

Alighierin 2/1/11 1:10 AM

@SikE: What? They die after a certain time period, and can be killed at any time before that if they're spotted.

Frezer 2/16/11 3:56 AM

@Alighierin: yes

ExecutorLuna 12/20/10 12:30 AM

do they provide supply?

Erkneverdie 12/20/10 4:07 AM

@ExecutorLuna: yes they do

Starviper 12/3/10 9:01 PM

Why are it's eyes steaming? Am I the first one to notice that?

Krazoa 11/18/10 5:47 PM

Quite the looker, isn't it? (Yes, the pun was intended.)

randomperson 1/27/11 10:02 PM

@Krazoa: yeah, and I bet the changelings smell like crap

KaMacho 11/11/10 10:48 PM

This unit is perfect.

ArconTe 11/1/10 2:05 PM

lol Contamination is op, they did that to all my buildings, and i was like, omg !

StargazerLos 10/29/10 7:44 AM

yeah they're OP, I beat all my opponents by massing thess units

thetimetel 10/31/10 2:41 AM

@grimwalker: Nah, I beat someone who tried that by massing larva

ConradOrvile 10/25/10 7:53 PM

I use this to give my Nydus worms a little advantage. How ? they can travel to land that is usable by being able to see it clearly. Thus is

how they can get behind a enemy base if you scout with one of these guys.

Tomallmighty 10/25/10 4:01 AM

Changelings can be good if you get them erly. They are good as scouts.

SilentG 10/15/10 2:37 AM

i notice that alot of people are not using the contaminate spell and unless you scout for cloaked units this unit, most players only get 1

for scouting; i think its kind of a waste of a unit but maybe thats just me

OtherDENIAL 10/13/10 2:08 AM

"Overseers are genetically altered Overlords WHO THAT HAVE a mass of additional sockets filled with highly evolved optical receptors with

hypersensitive retinas."

Engrish fail, Blizzard. Also, I've noticed that a lot of the descriptions of protoss/terran units contain a lot of run-on sentences. They're

probably trying to conserve space. It's not a big deal though.

:-) Go Blizzard! Starcraft 2 FTW!!!!!!

ArconTe 11/1/10 2:04 PM

@dNILe: yeah blizzard fails at spelling tho, i have seen more than once "seige tanks"

ArconTe 10/13/10 1:50 AM

last time i was so bored that i killed one of my marines and it was a changeling, i was like, omfg wtf?!!

Yatrix 10/5/10 9:01 PM

"Stalkers represent some of your earliest defenses against Overseers. Their blink ability ensures that they’ll be able to intercept and

chase down Overseers quickly"

Definitely need to counter seers.

MySon 9/27/10 5:37 AM

I miss Overlords being detectors.

Doncroft 9/27/10 8:28 PM

@Lucas: I still assign overlords to follow my units around, and 2 minutes later, Oh crap, forgot. MORPH!

Kcaz 9/25/10 1:31 AM

in thev toss pic there are as many dark templars as lings... i dont think the overseers gonno help

Neos 9/21/10 10:28 PM

how can it be good except somethin maybe the cloak but still it has no attack

Alighierin 2/1/11 1:13 AM

@Neos: It has several useful abilities and it still provides supply. Not everything needs to do direct damage to be useful.

Velasan 9/21/10 6:28 AM

I sort of rofl at counter measures for overseers. You want to know the method for stopping an overseer? Select any unit with an air

attack.. click on overseer, lol. Overseers are pretty handy though, they move relativley fast and changelings are very helpful for scouting,

contaminate is nearly a pointless skill however since you need to know where and when to use it and then bring an easily squishable

overseer to the enemy base which you are only going to be in if you just destroyed it.

Buzzmage 9/20/10 10:12 PM

nice site =D

InfestedEdoo 9/2/10 5:42 PM

Typo ont the first sentence.... lol blizz :D

InfestedEdoo 9/2/10 5:40 PM

Changelings are so *#@%ing cool... i love sending in a changeling to find a prefect spot to put a nydus worm in the enemies base. Also

spawning like 5 changelings and blocked the enemies' choke point :D they notice quick, but it gives you like a 20 second gap where you

know the enemy is going to attack.

fattyattyo 9/1/10 3:48 AM

overseers are way to weak. I mean look at the observer they can cloak and not be seen so taking them around is much safer given they

are slow though. The terrans always have their use of observation with the command center. Now the overseer is just to damn weak.

When protoss try to go dt the first thing they take out in my army is the overseer, cause they are so weak. All i ask is overseers have a

bit more defense thats all.
