In a community, having a few arguments because of certain misunderstandings is not new and will never

be getting rid of. But, as far as we may know, things can be settled in a good way if only we would listen
to one another. Hearing both sides are important, as it resolves the dispute between the individual
parties.

The story of the Elephant and the Six Blind Men can be used to interpret a community that has its violent
and peace sides. The elephant defines the problem a community faces in times when its people do not
know how to compose themselves whenever an argument arises. The six blind men serves as the people
of the community if one may give meaning to it while the wise man can be considered as the official –
probably the captain – who leads the village as based on their position and role. To have them as the
frontier means a lot for those individual in a community to never cross the line due to some
disagreements that they have. As stated above, conflicts will always arise no matter how hard we try to
prevent it. But, it will take a good leader to end it if only he will look on both sides of the coin. Fairness
and equality is what makes a community united, so a good leader must learn how to be a good listener in
such times in order for him to make a wise decision on how to resolve that certain dispute, and in the
end, reconcile them to maintain the peace for the sake of everyone who lives and is part of the
community.

1. One thing a member of a community can do to help his own or the other is to create a project
that will benefit the people he belongs to. To serve as an example that shows a community
participation, feeding program is one of the common yet the top on the list of the help one
community needs most especially for those children who does not have sustainable living and is
only dependent on their neighbors for some food and basic necessities.

2. To be part of a group can be considered as one of the best feelings you can ever have, and it does
apply to the basics of a community too. To be included in your society even though you are
different is a different kind of feeling, of which to be able to do that, a community might give off a
social gathering for their people in order for them to better socialize and talk with one another,
learn how will they be able to honor and adore each other, and give off the idea and sense of
safety that you can trust one another.

3. To have access over something inside your own community while being treated fairly is one thing
that a commune must dare to have. The giving of free food assistance even if there are no certain
calamities or disaster that happened can be considered as one of the examples for a basic
community to have. No one might have seen it but there is always those family who struggle in
their everyday lives just from thinking what would they eat for today and the upcoming days.
Thus, lending a hand from the society they belong to should play a vital role for them.
To be ethical at all times inside your workplace is a must, but so does when you were outside of it,
because there are some things that cannot be told even if you are out and about due to its
confidentiality. You cannot just simply dismiss work ethics steps as it is significant for your good
functioning. To follow all these steps ends up to you having the best performance in everything you do,
and it will automatically show your capabilities and potentials which will serve as the key for you and
your company’s triumph and attainments.
SPIRITUAL BUT NOT RELIGIOUS

We all believe in the different perspectives of life, and one may have no right to judge another just
because this is what they believe in. But to be honest, I can say that I belong to those few whose spiritual
but not religious.

Being diverse from the others is hard, most especially when it is your religion and characteristics that
they look into stereotypy. But that is not the reason why I chose to become a spiritual but not religious
person. As I have look further into it, I can’t just belong into another religion after abandoning my real
ones. That is why I just chose to become spiritual. I am not interested in going to churches like they
usually do, but I sometimes does, depending on the mood of the day. I can agree to the phrase that a
spiritual but not religious man does really look at spirituality as a journey intimately related to the pursuit
of personal development, because all I want is my personal growth and development, including peace of
mind. I do psychological test for the sake of my mental health and to prevent myself from breaking down
from that certain disorder that I was diagnosed with. They say that prayer inside the church is one of the
biggest help I can get to stop this, but I say that believing in me – that I can be free from this – is one of
the best thing that I can do for myself, and I think that is being spiritual.
DISASTER (CHANGED YOU IN POSTIVE AND NEGATIVE WAY)

One disaster that I had experienced was when it was the typhoon Ondoy. The memories were somewhat
vague but I can still remember how terrifying it was and how it affected our life vastly.

If I may describe the place where I live, we are in the side of a rail road crossing and at the back of our
house is the sea. It may not look like much, but at that time, we were struggling with financial problems
due to my mother losing her job. We had nothing else at that time and we are only depending on my
uncle who lives in the city. One more thing that we did not expect to damage our living was when the
typhoon struck our province. It was midnight when the storm intensified its force, every trees where
collapsing, our neighboring houses where almost losing their roofs and windows, while ours was still
maintaining its strength, because my grandfather always bragged about how strong our house was for
the reason that he made it, and he made sure that it will withstand disasters like that, most especially
because we lived near the sea.

As the storm continues its rage, one thing is what we are not prepared of. It is when our humungous star
apple tree swings its body towards our house, and when it was about to fall right to us, the wind changed
its direction and right after that all we heard was the loud crashing of the tree in the backyard of the big
apartment right in front of our house.

From that moment on I believe that what happened was a leap of fate, and that we are so lucky to
survive that disaster. We were saved by whoever right above in the sky might have the ability to sweep
that off out in the way of our home. Of course, it devastatingly affected us for a short period of time,
since we had no money and all we can do is to wait for the assistance the government and the
municipality might give us. But to sum it up, I am still very much grateful that we made it out of there
alive and right after that my mother have been able to find another job to support my brothers and
sister’s studies.
