Course Description
Office Hours

9:30am to 10:30am
In this course, students will learn about those topics on English language
Tuesday which will help them to communicate academically and professionally.
Course topics address both the technical aspects of English comprehension
9:30am to 10:30am and issues pertaining to oral and written communication.

This course introduces following major aspects of English language:

 Sounds and syllables


 Grammar (Tenses, Active/Passive voice)
 Word Classes (Articles, Nouns, Connectors, Adjective, Adverb)
 Reading Comprehension
 Reading Techniques
 Writing Process
 Punctuation Skills
 Communication Skills

Course Objectives
 To explain the concepts of grammar with an improved understanding
 To develop an understanding related to words, sentences and paragraphs
 To improve the language skills; speaking, reading and writing skills

Course Learning Outcomes


At the end of this course, Students should be able to

 Identify and relate different types of word classes along with their functions
 Construct effective sentences and paragraph
 Utilize the concepts of grammar in their spoken communication
 Apply the rules of grammar in speaking, reading and writing skills

However, following calculations are necessary for the final evaluation:

 Mid Term Exam: 30%


 End Term Exam: 50%
 Assignment and Quiz: 10%
 Presentation : 10%
