When I got to 1726 Grand Avenue in Silt, Colorado, Monique Contreras told me to the effect of:

She is afraid the safety of her and her children because of Michael Euler.
She and Euler have been a couple in the past and she was trying to get Euler to move his things out of her house.
She and Tony were at this house last night. (Monique refused to look at a picture of Tony Green to confirm if the “Tony” she was
talking about was Tony Green.)
When they left this residence, she and Tony stopped at Kum & Go in Silt.
They drove to Rifle.
Tony asked her to drop him off at Kum & Go on East 1 Street.
Tony got out of her car.
She continued to drive to her house.
She was in the area of Wing Nuts when she got a phone call from saying that she needed to come get and
Mike Euler because Euler was hurt.
She was hesitant because she did not want to deal with Euler, but she did go to their location which was near the library.
When she got to them, Euler was holding his leg and he was in excruciating pain.
Euler would not tell her what happened and he refused to go to the hospital.
A woman who was unknown to her helped to get Euler into the car.
She did not see anyone else in the area.
Euler started giving her attitude, so she got out of the car.
She got back into the car and drove them away.
When I asked her if Euler might be jealous of Tony, she said that Euler is jealous of everyone.
Monique gave me permission to search her car and handed me a key.
She wanted to talk to somebody from Advocate Safe House because she is afraid of Euler.

My conversation with Monique Contreras was audio digitally recorded and the audio should be heard for complete statements and
details.

Before I left the house, I showed to Tracy Kimball a picture of Tony Green and asked her if he was the Tony that was at her house last
night and she said that he was there last night.

I drove back to the police department.

was at the police department with aunt.

I again read to his Miranda rights.

waived his rights and told me to the effect of:

Around midnight last night, he and Mike Euler were going to Kum & Go on 1st Street.
They saw Euler’s girlfriend, Monique, driving.
Monique had said that she was somewhere else.
They turned around and saw that she was parked.
They saw a guy getting out of Contreras’ car at 1st Street and East Avenue.
Euler told him to stop the truck, so he did.
Euler got out of the truck and went over to talk with the guy.
He started walking towards Euler and the guy.
The guy pushed Euler and Euler fell to the ground.
He started to chase the guy, but fell to the ground.
The man continued to run away to the north.
Euler was yelling at while still lying in the road.
Some lady came out and helped them.
Euler told him to call Monique, so he did.
Monique arrived in her white car and picked them up.
Euler refused to go to the hospital.
He took Monique and Euler to Monique’s house.

On August 27, 2013, I received a written statement from Terri Daugherty:

She was woken on the night of August 22, at about midnight by a paraplegic man lying on the street screaming for help.
She went out to help the man and a woman pulled up in a white car.
She helped to get him into the white car.

Supplemental/Pruitt/08-22-2013

The following report provides a summary of statements and/or reports. The author does not purport that this report contains all of the
facts and/or that the statements are verbatim. This report is not intended to take the place of original documents, statements, and/or
evidence.

Unless otherwise stated, all events described herein occurred in the City of Rifle, Garfield County, State of Colorado.

All information contained herein was obtained by my personal observations and/or information provided by other law enforcement
sources, unless otherwise noted.

All times reported are approximate.

INITIAL INFORMATION

On 08-22-2013, at approximately 0006 hrs, Rifle police were dispatched to the area of the 200 block of Railroad Ave for a report of a
man unconscious and lying on the ground.

OFFICER OBSERVATION

I, Officer Mike Pruitt, arrived on scene and parked my patrol vehicle on the south side of E.3rd Street in front of the old Timberline
Sports building.

I noticed a white male whom I recognized as Shea Thompson DOB 04-16-1994 standing next to a white male lying on the side walk in
200 block of Railroad Ave on the east side of the street.

The male on the ground, who would be identified as Anthony Green DOB 09-21-1975 was wearing jeans and a black button down
shirt.

I approached the two of them and ask Shea what had happened.

Shea stated that “some guy” at John’s liquor told him that a man had just got “jumped” down the street.

Shea said he went to where the man was and realized it was Anthony Green.

Shea said that Anthony is the father of two of his siblings.

I approached Anthony and noticed that he had a large gash over his left eye and some abrasions on his left cheek.

I knelt down and shook Anthony on his knee to illicit a response.

He did not respond so I checked for a pulse on his neck and for breathing by seeing if his chest was rising and falling.

I detected no pulse and did not observe the rise and fall of his chest so performed a sternum rub by vigorously rubbing his sternum
bone to illicit a response.
As I did this I noticed that Anthony’s eyes had rolled back into his head and there was blood in his mouth.

The sternum rub did not illicit a response so I told Officer Van Teylingen that I was going to begin CPR chest compressions.

Officer Van Teylingen retrieved an ABMU bag to assist in rescue breathing.

I relayed to dispatch that the male we were in contact with was unresponsive, and that we were going to begin CPR.

I requested that EMS respond emergent.

Officer Van Teylingen and performed CPR until the medics arrived.

During CPR I noticed a baggie on the ground next to Anthony that contained a white powdery substance that is consistent with
methamphetamine.

Shortly after EMS arrived they charge of the patient and continued to try and resuscitate him.
Case Number: 2013-00010882. ORI: CO0230300. Page: 10 of 51

Eventually the ambulance would transport Anthony to the Grand River Medical Center.

I collected the bag of suspected meth and secured it in my vehicle.

At this time I walked over to Shea Thompson and asked him to tell me what he knew about what happened.

Shea said words to the effect of but not limit to:

He said that he had had an argument with his girlfriend and was down by John’s liquor located at W.2nd and W. 3rd Street smoking a
cigarette.
He said “some guy” told him that someone named Anthony just got jumped on Railroad Ave.
Shea said to he went to where the “guy” had described and found Anthony lying there.
Shea said that Anthony stated to him that he needed help and then passed out
Shea said that Anthony had an open pocket knife in his hand after he collapsed so he put it in his pocket.
Shea said he was trying to get Anthony to wake up when the police arrived.

I asked Shea if he recognized the guy who had told him about this incident and he said no.

I asked Shea if he could describe the guy and he said he never saw his face.

I asked Shea if I could have the knife and he gave it to me.

I placed the knife in a plastic bag and secured it in my vehicle.

Shea continued to become more and more upset as I spoke to him.

I noticed some males that were standing in front of the Sports corner yelling for Shea.

At this time I told Shea that I did not believe he was telling me everything he knew about this incident.

I told him that if this became a homicide he would become very much involved and that he should be totally honest with me.

Shea stated at this time that he had lied about how he found out about Anthony.

I asked him what he had lied about.

He said that actually it had been his friend Preston Peterson who had witnessed what had happened and that it was he that had
informed him about it.

I asked him why he had lied and he said to protect his friend as he did not want to get involved.

At this time I told Shea that he was under arrest for obstructing a police officer.

I placed hand cuffs on him behind his back, checked them for proper fit and double locked them.

I then placed him in the back of my patrol vehicle.

Shea started yelling and crying at this time asking for his brother.

At this time Lieutenant Boulton arrived on scene.

I explained to him what had happened and he asked me to gather up any witnesses that we had and have them come to the police
department for interviews.

I was able to contact Preston Peterson and asked him if would go come to the police station for an interview.

He said that he would so Lt. Boulton gave him a ride to the PD.

At this time I transported Shea to the PD.

Once at this PD I told Shea that if he agreed to cooperate with this investigation from now on I would not charge him with obstructing.

Shea agreed to cooperate so I released him from custody.

Case Number: 2013-00010882. ORI: CO0230300. Page: 11 of 51

I brought Shea in to the PD where he was turned over to detectives for interview.

After releasing Shea from custody I booked the pocket knife that Shea claimed he had removed from Anthony’s person and booked it
into evidence.

The bag of suspected methamphetamine was booked into evidence by Officer Van Teylingen.

INITIAL INFORMATION

On August 22, 2013 at approximately 00:06hrs Garfield County Communications advised of a male party that was screaming and
crawling on the ground.

The party was reported to be in the area of the 200 block of Railroad Ave.

INVESTIGATION

Officer M. Pruitt and Officer W. Van Teylingen responded to the area.

I, Officer G. Duncan, heard them advised Garfield County Communications that they were in contact.

-Shortly after, I heard them ask for an ambulance and advised that they had an unresponsive male.

-I advised that they did not know what happen but they were starting CPR.

I began to travel that way and arrived and found them performing CPR.

-Once on scene I learned that they person was named Anthony Green (9-21-75).

There was another male on scene that I knew to be Shea Thompson Tharp (DOB 4-16-94).

Shea advised that he knew Anthony because Anthony dated his mom.

-He found him like this.

-Some unknown people told him that there was a guy that had just got beat up.

Rifle Fire Department arrived and took over working on Anthony.

I began to walk around the area to try and locate any evidence or other witnesses.

-While in the 100 of W 3rd St, I found three males siting on a wall.

-Stopped and asked them if they knew anything about what had happen and they advised they did not.

-They did advised that they knew that Shea knew the person laying on the ground.

I gather the names of them and they all became known as:

-Preston Peterson (DOB 4-30-95)

-Sergio Cardenas (DOB 7-24-95)
-Cory Stanley (DOB 4-30-95)

I advised them that we would contact them again if we needed.

I then returned to the 200 block of Railroad Ave, just asked EMS left to taken Anthony to grand River Medical Center.
Case Number: 2013-00010882. ORI: CO0230300. Page: 13 of 51

I found that Officer M. Pruitt was speaking with Shea.

-I was speaking with a Deputy that was on scene, and then overheard Officer M. Pruitt advised Shea that he was under arrest.

-I went over and assisted Officer M. Pruitt.

-I later learned that Officer M. Pruitt had found that Shea was not providing proper information about his knowledge of what had
happen to Anthony.

Shortly after placing Shea into a marked patrol vehicle, Preston came up to me and advised that he wanted to tell me more
information.

Preston stated in effect:

-He was walking down East Ave to go to Kum and Go.

-While he was walking, he saw Anthony leaving a white car and start running.

-A white truck stopped and a man that he knew to have one leg got out.

-Another younger and shorter man also go out.

-Both of them began to chase Anthony.

-He kept walking to Kum and Go.

-While he was walking home, he came across Anthony coming out of the alley in the 200 block of Railroad Ave.
-He then went back to his house and told Shea because he knew that Shea knew him.

After getting this information, Preston agreed to take me to the area was the incident occurred.

-Preston took me to approximately the 300 block of East Ave.

-Preston was then transported the Rifle Police Department by Garfield County Sheriff Deputy J. Wilson.

Garfield County Sheriff Depty Sgt. J. Craine and I walked the area and began to mark off sections.

While in the area awaiting Detectives to arrive, we located:

-A white Toyota in the parking structure.

-A while Dodge Dakota with its window’s down in the 100 block of East Ave.

-What appeared to be oil drip marks and poodles that appeared to come from the Dodge.

-A pair of glasses on the sidewalk at the intersection of E 2nd St and East Ave.

Detective J. Macklin arrived on scene and I assisted in processing of the scene.

-Det. J. Macklin photographed.

-I collected the glasses that were found and turned them over to Det. J. Macklin.

-I assisted Det. J. Macklin in impounding both vehicles and having them towed to the Rifle Police Department.

On 08-22-13 at approximately 00:06 hours, Rifle Police were dispatched to a suspicious occurrence across the street from the Sports
Corner (301 Railroad Ave) in the City of Rifle, in the County of Garfield, in the State of Colorado.

The Garfield County Emergency Communications Authority advised that there was a male screaming, and then that there was a male
crawling on the ground.

Officer M. Pruitt took the call, and I, Officer W. Van Teylingen, responded to assist.

OFFICER OBSERVATION

At approximately 00:08 hours, Officer Pruitt arrived on scene just before I did.

I parked in the 100 block of East 3rd Street facing west.

There was a male on a phone whom I later came to know as Shea Thompson Tharp standing on the south-east corner of the
intersection at 3rd Street and Railroad Avenue.

When I got to Railroad Avenue, I observed a male lying on the sidewalk on the eastern side of Railroad Avenue below the murals for
Timberline Sporting Goods.

I later came to know this party as Anthony Royal Green (DOB 09-21-1975).

OFFICER ACTIONS

While Officer Pruitt moved to assist the prone male, I spoke with Shea.

I called for an ambulance.

I learned to the effect the following from Shea:

He (Green) has a gash on his head
He (Green) fell on his face.
Shea thinks he (Green) bit his tongue.

While speaking with Shea, Officer Pruitt determined that Green was unresponsive and not breathing.

Green had injuries to the left side of his face and forehead area.

I rushed to my vehicle and returned with my first aid kit including a bag mask.

Officer Pruitt and I began performing CPR.

Officer Pruitt ripped Green’s black button down shirt open, and I cut Green’s undershirt away.

Officer Pruitt and I performed CPR on Green until EMS arrived and took over.

Shea advised that Green had a knife with him when he passed out, Shea took it from Green as Shea does not trust Green.
Case Number: 2013-00010882. ORI: CO0230300. Page: 16 of 51

A quick survey of Green revealed no obvious injuries to the abdomen.

Officer Duncan arrived on scene.

Colorado River Fire Rescue (CRFR) responded.

CRFR personnel that responded include:

Landon Churchill
Tim Lavin
Matt Messner
Steve Timm
Rob Jones

While CRFR was giving aid to Green, I spoke with and photographed Shea, specifically Shea’s face, hands and an apparent minor
injury to his right upper arm.

I observed no sign of injury to Shea’s hands.

Shea advised that he was physically fighting with his friends earlier in the day.

After CRFR loaded Green into the ambulance, Battalion Chief Rob Jones cleaned up the EMS equipment, and pointed out a small
baggie with a white substance on the ground.

The baggie was apparently under Green.

I collected the baggie, which appeared to contain a white powdery substance which I believed from my training and experience to be
methamphetamine.

I placed the baggie of suspected methamphetamine in a plastic bag.

When CRFR began to take Green to the hospital, I gave the baggie to Officer Pruitt and advised that I would be following the
ambulance to the hospital.

GRAND RIVER MEDICAL CENTER

CRFR transported Green to the Grand River Medical Center emergency room, I followed.

Grand River Medical Center personnel that worked on Green or were present include:
Dr. Matthew Skwiot
Janice Stagg
Marti Moss
Tim Moss
Leslie Gilbert
Julie Jenkinson
Robert Salti
Crystal Loncle

Green’s personal effects were collected in a white plastic bag.

After the initial rush at the emergency room, I was advised that there was a pipe found in Green’s pocket and that it was at the bottom
of the personal effects bag.

I collected the glass pipe which appeared full of residue and that I believed from my training and experience to be a pipe of the type
commonly used to smoke methamphetamine from the bag.

I did not have an evidence collection bag with me and placed the pipe into a glove and secured it in my pocket.

I collected the entire bag of personal effects, and secured it in my vehicle.

At 01:15 hours, Dr. Skwiot pronounced Green deceased.

I asked the Garfield County Emergency Communications Authority to contact the coroner.

I spoke to a Terri Daughtery at 119 East Avenue:

She heard a guy yelling that night.
The guy yelling, an amputee, was sitting in the intersection of East Avenue and 1st Street.
He appeared too injured and was yelling for help.
Another tall skinny male ran to help, along with a female with brown shoulder length hair, about 5’03” tall and weighing around 150
pounds.
Terri asked if they help and went inside to get dressed to give a ride to the hospital if needed.

At the Rifle Police Department

Officer Will VanTeylingen had collected several items of evidence:

He had photographed and placed them in bags.

The items that he had not put into the computer as evidence or sealed, I finished for him.

said that he would.
We found that he is a juvenile and his mother was contacted to come to the Rifle Police Department with him.

Autopsy

I went to the autopsy in Grand Junction:

Dr. Robert Kurtzman did not confirm a cause of death for Tony Green from the autopsy.
The facial injury to Tony green was the only external injury that Dr. Kurtzman talked about:
The injury was from hitting his head and sliding.
Dr. Kurtzman showed the linear marks associated with the facial wounds, and how the laceration over the eye was torn in the direction
of the other marks.
Dr. Kurtzman will review the toxicology screen at a later date.
