UNITS
IMMORTAL
Before the loss of Aiur, crippled
Protoss warriors could volunteer
to continue their service by
transplanting their shattered
remains into Dragoon
exoskeletons. Tragically, the
technology to continue this
practice was lost in the rubble of
their fallen homeworld. The
remaining Dragoons, now known as Immortals, have
been refitted with Twin Phase Disruptors and hardened
energy shields. These heavily armed and shielded
fighters give critical support by eliminating enemy
artillery and ranged attackers, although they are
vulnerable to rapid assaults from lesser foes. These
ancient warriors are a dying breed willing to sacrifice
everything for their people. Soon none will remain.

one fully upgraded immortal can take out 4 siege tanks Right? ;)
k i read down and i think i figured it out....it's pretty obvious really i should have realized...armor upgrade is for armor and shields
how do toss shield upgrades work and would the hardened shield of immortals benefit from upgrades?? love this unit and we are thinking
these guys are the anti armor units siege tanks, Thors, roaches, colossi and Ultralisks
If they gave Immortals ANOTHER gun, why can't they target air units anymore???
And the protoss reverse engineered warp gates, why can't the do the same here?
Let me guess. When it got plasma shield upgrade to level 3 the Shields reduces the Siege Tanks shock cannon from 10 to 7 right? Shield
upgrades makes all Toss shields reduce damage by 1 per upgrade so when Immortals got level 1 shield upgrade it reduces from 10 to 9
and at level 2 it reduces from taking 10 damage to 8 and finally level 3 shield upgrade makes it reduce shield damage to 7 right? Or
shield upgrades do not apply to the Immortal and it will only reduce all damage to 10.
@JetfirePrime: As i read in the game wikia, the shield damage calculation is as follows:
First, it calculates de damage incluiding de damage reduction. If the resulting damage is 10 or less, it's applied directly, if
not, the hardened shield takes place. For example, you are attacked by a marauder, dealing 20 damage, and you have +2
shields, so it is 20-2 = 18, it's above 10, so it triggers the hardened shields, and the immortal recieves 10 shield-points
damage. If you'are attacked by a marine, it would be 6-2 = 4, so, it doesn't trigger the h. Shields, and the immortal

B) In one of the future campain missions (zerg most likely) there will be a mission where they kill off the reserve of immortals
C) They upgrade the immortals in a way they can make new ones and we get a bad-ass new unit =D
D) They figure out how to make new ones in a future campeign mission
E) Nothing happens, blizz just wrote that to get people like me to write conspiericy theories
@DuskSilence: I still don't understand why immortal will soon disappear. It only says that the technology to make dragoons
was lost when aiur fell, and then, the dragoons were "upgraded" into immortals. So, they still have the knowledge to make
them (Immortals). And, since dragoons (and therefore, immortals) are crippled warriors willing to continue their service,
why would they disappear? As far as I know, Protoss warriors are still getting crippled...
By the way: isn't that strange that a so advanced race such as the Protoss lost all the knowledge of a technology with the
fall of one planet? Say, didn't they have Flash Drives or something? ... just saying
@VoodooChild: If i had to guess, They need dragoons to make immortals, since they turn dragoons into imortals. so if they
lost the tech to make dragoons, then no immortals, since immortals are dragoons with bigger guns. The tech is probably
reffering to the equipment to join a protoss to a machine body. And no. Protoss dont have flash drives. Dark protoss store
data on crystals. Regular protoss share information through the khala. And not all protoss technology was developed by
them. Alot of it was based off Xel'naga(sp) tech. The dragoon tech may have been a xel'naga artifact. If that was the case,
the machinery to bind the mind of the protoss to the dragoon would not be recreatable by the protoss.
@Waternova: Hmm, you made a good point there. Furthermore, it's highly likely that the dragoon may be of Xel'naga
origin. For example, the gateway is a variation of the xel'naga warpgate tech, which was lost during the Aeon of Strife. So, it
By the way, i know that the protoss don't have flash drives and that they use instead, the common psionic link known as
khala, and, in case of the dark templars, the crystals (For example, the Ihan crystal zeratul used to store his memories),
and, the immortal preservers. I just said that thing of the flash drives on a comic remark of how strange i find that an

And to answer your question MASTERCHIEF, go to your achievements and look at Explorer
@SkyVanguard: thx dude.one more question, how do i set hotkeys to certain unit/structures??
@MASTERCHIEF: crtl 1
can anyone tell me what the guide 1 guide 2 and guide 3 achievements are?? how do i play them to get those portraits of wolf marine
@RavenShadowe: no
@RavenShadowe: no
Against Terran, I always have trouble deciding to either mass up on Immortals for Tanks or Colosi for the Marines. I can't seem to do
both.
immortals are the opposite of their name. they die easily if they arent attacked by tanks
@MASTERCHIEF: I disagree the best marauders and ultralisks though i see your point the die vs lings and other massed
small units
@GhostRider: ya i guess u r right.but when i made them i go destroyed by mass marines so quickly it was so diapointing
@MASTERCHIEF: It's called Micro. Lots of micro. Properly handled, Immortals are an absolutely essential component of the
Protoss ground force. You have to manually tell them to attack armored units and micro them back if they start taking focus
fire. They soak up damage beautifully and dish it back even better.
@MASTERCHIEF: Thats why u got destroyed, because they are weak against high speed movement/ attack units like
marines, lings etc. If u micro them like crazy, they destroy almost anything
its ironic their called immortals: hlaf the time, all your immortals are dead
@randomperson: Or they don't exist. I see about 2 immortals for every long match with protoss.
@Froopermoop: if you went mass roach you would see moar immortals, but in bronze usually toss have bad economies and
can't support 2 robos and/or they rush to colossus and never get moar than a few. i think immortals should be used moar
because they are so cool. i like seeing them even if they blow all my roaches to pieces:) pew pew------
