Health is very important for human life, because with a healthy condition, humans can
move, worship, and do other activities. Without healthy conditions, humans lose the power to
carry out activities, related to health, there are cases that are now shaking the world, namely an
outbreak of an infectious disease that can be called Covid-19. The people of Islam are obliged to
see this case in accordance with the viewpoint of Islam, Islam responds to the plague that is
currently happening, which was also experienced by the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
In Islam disease is often associated with slander and doom. Diseases can also take the
form of germs or bacteria which are Allah's creation, even though through human actions
themselves. In other words, using the term waba '. In fiqh, it is taught that when there is an
epidemic in a country there is no point in leaving that place if the cause is also himself, it is
advisable to do more prayers to reject the plague, people are exposed to a deadly disease
outbreak as punishment punishment sent by Allah SWT to anyone.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Islam also teaches not to leave the house,
maintain cleanliness by performing ablution, washing hands, maintaining distance and so on.
Consuming good and halal food is also very important in addition to strengthening the immunity
of the human body. Avoid consuming foods that bring harm, let alone consuming foods that are
clearly haram in Islam. Because the damage done to the human body comes from what they do

Regarding Covid-19 and Islam, Ibn Qayyim also taught us to avoid any potential that
could make someone infected with the plague, always maintain good health as a living capital in
the world and the hereafter, avoid breathing air that has been contaminated with these virus
germs, maintain distance from someone who is infected or applies (social distancing), think
positively, trust in Allah, be careful, take precautions, reproduce Allah's remembrance with
worship and knowledge.
