Statistics is the science of the collection, organization, and interpretation of

data. It deals with all aspects of this, including the planning of data collec-
tion in terms of the design of surveys and experiments.

There comes a time when you just need the facts. Or, you stumble upon
some facts or statistics that so amaze you, you want to check them out so
you can write about them. There are so many facts and statistics out there,
I couldn’t possibly list them all, but here are some of the more popular re-
sources for facts and figures for the US and World.

FedStats is the gateway to the United States statistical system, providing

access to statistical information from more than 100 federal agencies. It is a
great resource for finding any kind of statistics that you need and most
likely the first place that I would start.
