Login to VIRL2 and Create a Simple Topology

Value Proposition: This scenario demonstrates how to launch a sample topology within the VIRL sandbox.

Important The Cisco internal VIRL community operates and maintains VIRL. This demonstration introduces VIRL and
enables remote access to the VIRL environment. If you experience any performance or configuration issues
while using VIRL, report issues to virl-support@cisco.com.

Procedure

Step 1 On the remote desktop, launch Chrome, and click the VIRL2 bookmark. Enter a username of guest, password
C1sco12345 and click Login.

Step 10 Click Use Next Available.

Step 11 Notice the connection has been created between the two routers.

Step 12 For the devices to have a minimum configuration, we must have VIRL create the bootstrap configurations.
Towards the bottom of the window, click the Design tab.

Access the Console in the Running Routers

Value Proposition: This scenario demonstrates how to access the device console in order to configure onto
the network.

Note This scenario assumes that the simulation is active per the previous scenario.

End Running Simulation

Value Proposition: This scenario demonstrates how to end a simulation.
In order to save your lab for later use, we are required to end the active running simulation.

Procedure

Step 1 To defocus the selected node and focus the lab, click anywhere in the white topology pane.

Step 2 Select the Simulate tab and click Stop Lab to end the current running simulation.

Step 3 Notice that status indicators for both routers now show that the routers are no longer running (indicators show
a gray circle with an x in it).
