First Term – First Year:

$65,000 base salary

City Insurance or $2,000 s pend if not taken, based upon City Hall Union Contract costs
Gas $3,000/year for Mayor’s car
457 Investment Account as administered by the City with a 5% match of contribu ons made by Mayor
3 weeks vaca on

First Term – Second Year and subsequent years if re-elected:

Base salary gets same raise that the Teacher’s Union contract gets yearly on anniversary of swearing in
date. (This is the only contract the Mayor does not nego ate so he/she cannot in uence the raises.)

Second Term

4 weeks vaca on

Third Term

5 weeks vaca on (maxed out)

Any unused vaca on me will not be paid out at the end of serving as Mayor

When a new Mayor is elected, it goes back down to the $65,000/year and everything from First Term –
First Year

This new base salary only equates to a 2% raise each year over the last 15 years since this was changed
in 2005. That is approximately where the City has been with all of its contracts and more than fair.

I think this is fair, and it does not give raises that are out of touch with what other city employees are
ge ng. If we give a $5,000 raise Term 2, that equates to a 3.8% raise per year (total of 7.6%), and we
only give city employees a 2.5% at best.

Hopefully, we are entertaining this item on a bases that will not put us in this predicament 15 years from
now.
