STEEL-SHOT SIZES

CHARACTERISTICS OF LOW CARBON STEEL-SHOT

General Appearance : Steel-shots must be as spherical as possible. The total of extended, stuck, tailed and cavity containing
particles, broken pieces, leftovers like slag, which all accepted as harmful, must not be higher than 20%.

Metallurgy Structure : The structure of low carbon steel-shot is a bainitic structure that is composed of ferrite and cementite
particles.

Hardness : The hardness of 90% of the tested shots is between 40-50 HRc.

Standart Packaging : In polyethylene and polypropylene bags of 25 kg, on stretched palettes tons.
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION (SAE –J2175)

Carbon : 0.10 – 0.15 %

Manganese : 1.20 – 1.50 %
Silica : 0.10 – 0.25 %
Sulfur : 0.035 % max
Phosphorus : 0.035 % max
Low Carbon Steel-Shot Bainitic microstructure is an ideal structure in cleaning of metal surfaces, other surface preparing processes and shot peening applications. It does
not contain cooling cracks and internal tensile, it is a tough, not breakable structure.Low Carbon Steel-Shot with Bainitic microstructure has a bigger Impact effect, better
impact value higher hammering effect, good rebound effect, max. coverage effect min. abrasive losses, lower Maintenance Cost
