What is wrong with her answer? Explain the error.

2. Brackets of numbers 5 to 9, you will be adding 1 to the next place value. 7 is within the
bracket so we add 1 to the next place value. The correct answer is 2.4.
3. Lany’s answer is in reverse, it is in ascending order.

III.
1. Tenths has 10 as their denominator, hundredths has 100 as their denominator. 3.5 is
read as three and five tenths so it will be written as 3 5/10.
2. Set aside the whole number. Focus on the fraction and reduce it to its lowest term.
Finally, find its value in hundredths and put the whole number. 5 is constant, or we say 3
is 25% of 12. 25%= .25 so 5 3/12 = 5 ¼ or 5.25.
