Part I Comprehension (24%)

Passage A
Hong Kong people like to eat junk food. However, dietician Mimi Sham says it is
almost as
unhealthy as having snacks because they are both eaten outside the normal meal t
ime.
According to Ms Sham, females usually need about 1,500-1,800 kcal energy per day
and
males need 1,800-2,000 kcal per day.
¡§Simple sugar content should only take about 10 per cent of our daily energy input,
and we
could get the simple sugars easily through ice-cream, cakes or candies. As for t
he fat content, it
should be about 30 per cent of our daily energy input. That means apart from fis
h, chicken, pork
and other kinds of meat, each of us would need about one teaspoon of oil in each
meal.¡¨ Ms Sham
explained.
A snack means having some convenient food ¡V food that we do not really need too m
uch time
cooking.
¡§ If we have a lot of high fat content food on one day, we can consider having bake
d potato,
with no butter added. It all depends on what we have eaten in a day.¡¨ Ms Sham added
.
What we eat should be wholesome, which means a healthy diet. Therefore, we shoul
d eat a
