Community on social and economic development (CSED) is a nongovernmental organization and

nonprofit making organization which operates in Tanzania but specifically operates in the districts of
Magu, Misungwi, Nyamagana and Ilemela all in Mwanza region of the northern part of Tanzania.
CSED was founded on the 20th may 2007 by ten men and women who were touched by the status of
women in Tanzania which is dominated by stereotype social and gender construction imposed by
men and the general public. Facts show that women bear the burden of domestic activities which
cause them to remain vulnerable while children face the lack of their basic needs and rights. the
situation of children is worsened by poor parental care, death of parents, lack of food, lack of
education this has adversely affected them as with all these problems children have been orphaned,
take to the streets this exposes them to HIV/AIDS, sexual abuse and drug abuse and other related
problems.
With all these problems, the founders sought fit to start an NGO so as to support women and
children
