He was born in Lyon, France on October 3, 1804,

one of the most active servants of the Antilogos-

The brazilian newspaper “Jornal do Commercio” in its edition of November

27th, 2002, brings us a report about the modernization of the legislation in the
“Great Masonic Lodge of Pernambuco” with an interview of the Adjunct Grand
Master, labor judge Milton Gouveia. Enclosed to the published report, a table
was put listing the names of some notable Freemasons, being the first in the
list the name of Allan Kardec among some others.

Noviembre de 2002, trae a nosotros los informes de las noticias sobre la
modernización de la legislación en la "Gran Logia de Pernambuco" con una
entrevista del Gran Maestro Adjunto y juez del trabajo Milton Gouveia.
Adjuntado al informe publicado, fue colocado un cuadro en que daba el
nombre de algunos masónes notables, siendo el primero de ellos lo de Allan
Kardec entre algunos otros.

matters, obtaining as answer to our consultation: “Some biographers of
Kardec claim that he was a member of the Great Lodge of France. The Great
Lodge of France, more than 20 years ago, before my consultation, just
answered that it is reported that he was initiated there, but it does not have
supporting documents. Therefore, historically, the doubt continues. However,
his works contains, mainly in initial introductory parts, many terminologies of
the Masonic jargon and of the Masonic doctrine.”
2 – Nosotros preguntamos al Dr. José Castellani, uma reconocida autoridad en

Francisco Cândido Xavier (1910-2002), mostly known as "Chico Xavier",

began to systematically exercise as spiritist psycographer "spiritual medium"
with the age of 17 years-old in Pedro Leopoldo's Spiritualistic Center, his
home town. (om tevens de krant te zien “Estado de Minas”, January 20th,
1971; “Realidade” magazine , November 1971, p. 65; etc.).
Francisco Cândido Xavier (1910-2002), más conocido como "Chico Xavier",

comenzó a ejercer sistemáticamente como "medium" espiritista psicógrafo a
la edad de 17 años en el Centro Espiritista de Pedro Leopoldo, su ciudad natal.

spiritists of Brazil. And highly estimated by millions of other non-spiritists

The main reason and base for the whole propagandistic exaltation: besides
countless tickets and brief messages, 419 psycographed books. No brazilian
author has such a production. Between 8 to 11 books a year. The Brazilian
Spiritualistic Federation (FEB) and other spiritist societies systematically
publish those books translated in eight languages, besides Japanese, Arabic...
and Esperanto, distributing them for more than 40 countries. In Brazil, 25
million sold copies.

It is added also, for the popular admiration, that "Chico" gave up all of the
copyrights to several spiritistic societies dedicated to the poor.

The organization of spiritist propaganda introduced Chico Xavier personally,

with his books, at several cities of United States, England, France, Italy and
Portugal. One of the most outstanding practical consequences of those trips
was the foundation of the "Christian Spirit Center", in Ellon College, North
Carolina.

Francia, Italia y Portugal. Una de las más destacadas consecuencias prácticas

In numerous newspapers and magazines were published and continually

repeated great praises to Chico Xavier's psycography: "The poets that he is an
interpreter, present the same inspiration characteristics and the expression
which identified them in this planet".
En numerosos periódicos y revistas fueron publicados y repetidos sin cesar

grandes elogios a la psicografia de Chico Xavier: "Los poetas de que él es
intérprete, presentan las mismas características de inspiración y de expresión
que los identificaban en este planeta".
"Years after his death, it is given to find in him again the ideas and the style". it
didn't betray any poet, because all really comes as they were in life". "Nobody
that has ever assiduously read the writers in question, will stop recognizing
them integrally in the poetries or psycographed books". They claim that
besides the great literary critic Agripino Greco recognized in Chico's
psycographies the unmistakable style of Umberto de Campos... "If the man
has produced all this independently, he then can occupy how many chairs as
he wants in the Academy of Literary Arts", etc. The propaganda spreads all
over Brazil (and without so much success in many other parts of the world),
the question: "How is it possible for an ignoramus and illiterate person to be
capable to write all this and in different styles? " (PSYCOSIS! AND SELF-
DELUSION)

Propagan que inclusive el gran crítico literario Agripino Greco reconoció en
las psicografias de Chico el inconfundible estilo de Umberto de Campos... "Si
el hombre produjo todo aquello por cuenta propia, entonces él puede ocupar
cuántas sillas que las quiera en la Academia". Etc. La propaganda esparce por
Brasil entero (y sin tanto éxito en muchas otras partes del mundo), la
pregunta: "¿Como es posible que un ignorante y iletrado sea capaz de escribir
todo eso y en diferentes estilos?" (La respuesta és PSICÓSIS! Y LA AUTO
ILUSIÓN!)

They were not only used in service to the poor, or else also and preferably for
the popularization of those psycographies and for the propaganda of the
Spiritism. We already concretely mentioned the "Christian Spirit Center", that

Chico helped to found personally. Precisely close to the center where Chico
assisted there was a bookstore of Spiritism etc.

for about fifteen years I have stressed how he made secondary studies, and
still very young published his sonnets, with his signature, as one that I had
transcribed in that article, better sonnets than many psycographed ones that
he attributes to Bilac, for instance."

In all of Chico Xavier's psycographies the base is always the same no matter
how different have been the "spirits" they are attributed to: A moralist
`religiosity `, pious, mellifluous, repetitive, absolutely infantile... Almost three
adjectives for line. The more used ones are: caressing ones, sweetest,
unexceedable, beloved ones...
En todas las psicografias de Chico Xavier el fondo es siempre el mismo por

más diferentes que hayan sido los "espíritus" a los que se atribuyen: Una
`religiosidad` moralista, excesivamente sentimental, melosa, repetitiva,

It should be enough to read any psycographed book made by Chico Xavier to

understand that everything is very far away from that which their propagandist
ones proclaim. Let us take the best publication, the more eulogized, the book:
“Nosso Lar - Our Home". Everything is plagiarized of absurdities and
contradictions.
Debería bastar leer cualquier libro psicografado por Chico Xavier para
comprender que todo está muy lejos de ser lo que sus propagandistas
proclaman. Tomemos la mejor publicación, de más elogiada: "Nosso Lar -
Nuestro Hogar". Todo está plagiado de absurdos y contradicciones.
A MENTALLY SICK
UN ENFERMO MENTAL
Because of health Chico Xavier's had to make an electroencephalogram, out
from the spiritists’ control when he pretends faking he is "psycographing". An
explanatory result was given then: "Temporal focus classically responsible for
sensorial disturbances, hallucinations, to hearing of voices (...), arrhythmia,
tendency to epileptic stroke or `transes´" (See, among other publications,

Por motivos de salud hubo que hacer el eletroencefalograma de Chico Xavier,

fuera del control de los espiritistas cuando finge que está "psicografando". um
resultado aclaratorio: "Foco temporal clásicamente responsable por
disturbios sensoriales, alucinaciones, oír voces (...), arritmia, tendencia a
ataques epilépticos o `trances´" (Ver, entre otras publicaciones, Revista
"Realidad", Noviembre, 1971).
A testimony from his father, Mr. João Cândido. Chico Xavier himself admitted
with reference to his " mediunic initiation" in his childhood, from a sleepwalker
speaker and wanderer: "My father wanted to intern me in a sanatorium for the
mentally sick (...) He should had his reasons: at that time they visited me (...)
also disturbing and strange entities (In a interview to reporter Mauro
Santayana, from “Folha Ilustrada” newspaper, São Paulo, 11-July-1982).

A testimony from his godmother, Mrs, Rita: "They said I was crazy". Beat me
"for being crazy (...) They said to everyone that the boy was a raving mad" (in a
interview to reporter Ramón García y García, from “Fatos e Fotos" magazine,
nr. 1072).

By a statement from Chico himself. He affirmed countless times that he was

always being attended and inspired by "Emmánuel". Continually, ininterruptly,
day and night..., that he saw him, he heard and felt as as the same as anybody
alive or the any thing around. Especially by "Emmánuel", as chief, but also
more than 500 other subordinate "spirits."
Por afirmación del propio Chico. Afirmó incontables veces que estaba siempre
siendo asistido e inspirado por "Emmánuel". Continuamente,
ininterrumpidamente, día y noche..., que lo vía, oía y lo sentía como a
cualquier persona viva o a cualquier cosa alrededor. Especialmente por
"Emmánuel", como jefe, pero también más de 500 otros "espíritus"
subordinados.
Being this not only without any proof however also clearly false, as we will
see, of two options one: or Chico Xavier didn't believe in what he affirmed and
would be a continuous liar and a continuous impostor, or he believed in this
statement and then was completely out of the reality, what would mean that he
was absolute and continually crazy in a high degree.
Siendo esto no sólo sin prueba ninguna sino también clarissimamente falso,
como veremos, de dos una: o Chico Xavier no creía en lo que afirmaba y sería
uno continúo mentiroso y continúo farsante, o creía en esa afirmación y
entonces estaba completamente fuera de la realidad, lo que significaría que
era absoluta y continuamente loco en alto grado.
THE INCONGRUITIES
LAS INCONGRUENCIAS
I introduce some, among thousands. If Chico Xavier was not crazy, the farce
would be too much serious... If Chico Xavier was a great mentally sick patient,
they would not find strange the continuous and enormous incongruities that
he attributed to be from superior "spirits."
Yo presento algunas, entre miles. Si Chico Xavier no era loco, la farsa sería
demasiada gravísima... Si Chico Xavier era un grande enfermo mental, no
extrañarían las continuas y enormes incongruencias y que él las atribuyera a
"espíritus" superiores.
The propaganda that the leaders of spiritism make of him is what should be
considered strange, if the fanaticism was not known and even the same same
tortuous intention...
La propaganda que de él hacen los líderes del espiritismo es que debería

extrañar, si no fuera conocido el fanatismo y aún tortuosa intención...
In "Parnaso of Além Túmulo – Parnassus from Beyond the Grave" Chico

Xavier presents a sonnet, in the "style of the sonnets of the exile" as if it was a
psycography dictated by the "spirit" of emperor Dom Pedro II.
En el "Parnaso de Alem Túmulo - Parnaso del más allá de la tumba" Chico

Xavier presenta un soneto, en el "estilo de los sonetos del exilio" como se
fuera una psicografia dictada por el "espíritu" de Don PEDRO II.
Why, the "spirit" of Dom Pedro II didn't know nor did nobody communicate
him in the beyond, nor to him nor to Chico, that the "sonnets of the exile" were
not from Dom Pedro except but from a nobleman that accompanied him? (With
all reason Gustavo Barroso ridiculed Chico Xavier then in an article in the "O
Cruzeiro" magazine).
Ora, el "espíritu" de Don PEDRO II no sabía ni nadie le comunicó en el

That is, the "superior spirits" that supposedly advises Chico would be so
ignorant, that they don't know that Saint Luis Gonzaga, Jesuit, Italian, dead
very young in the XVI century is completely different from Saint Louis, King of
France, of the Crusades, dead at old age in the XIII century.
Es decir, los "espíritus superiores" que pretendidamente asesoran Chico

serían tan ignorantes, que no saben que São Luís Gonzaga, jesuita, italiano,
muerto muy joven en el siglo XVI es completamente diferente de San Luíz, Rey
de Francia, de las Cruzadas, muerto viejo en el siglo XIII.
A SICK VANITY
UNA VANIDAD MALSANA
Many become surprised by the concrete fact of the very "humble" Chico use a
wig until he finished the implant of hair, and before always a cap. It is typical
the exacerbated vanity as sick mechanism to compensate defects that could
take to the complex of inferiority. In Chico Xavier, homosexuality, always ill for
a lifetime, outbreaks or continuous psychosis... I will not insist on this, only

the minimum to expose in Chico the continuous feignedness of humility.
Enough are the great psychiatrist's Professor Dr. Silva Mello words: "Inside
the spiritism, the mediunism, the psycography there is a lot of occult desire, a
lot of need to be different and bigger and better than the other, a lot of vanity, a
lot of self esteem (...) well disguised (...) maybe it does not appear in any other
human territory in such evident way as exactly in the field of
spiritism" ("Mistérios e Realidades deste e do Outro Mundo - Mysteries and
Realities of this and of the Other World", p. 277).
Muchos se quedan sorprendidos por el hecho concreto del muy “humilde"

Chico usar peluca hasta terminar lo implante de cabellos, y antes siempre
boina/gorra. Es típica la vanidad exacerbada como mecanismo malsano para
compensar defectos que podrían llevar al complejo de inferioridad. En Chico
Xavier, homosexualidad, toda la vida enferma, brotes o continúa psicosis... No
insistiré en esto, sólo el mínimo para desenmascarar en Chico lo continúo
fingimiento de humildad. Basten las palabras del gran psiquiatra Profesor Dr.
Silva Mello: "Dentro del espiritismo, del mediunismo, de la psicografia hay
mucho deseo oculto, mucha necesidad de ser diferente y mayor y mejor que
los otros, mucha vanidad, mucho amor propio (...) bien disfrazado (...) Y tal vez
en ningún territorio humano aparezca eso de manera tan evidente como
justamente en el campo del espiritismo" ("Misterios y Realidades de este y del
Otro Mundo", pág. 277).
NEITHER A DIVINER, NOR INSPIRED

NI ADIVINO, Y NI INSPIRADO
It would be anything at all if Chico Xavier had some divination, of the thought
or reality, in relationship with some alive person, in the present or in a past or
not very distant future. As so many other people have, or even all some time.
But Chico Xavier didn't have a minimum possible of control of the divination,
nor was, against what he claimed, inspired continually, uninterruptedly, day
and night, especially for "Emmánuel" and more other 500 guides. it would not
have been wrong for Otília Diogo in the fraudulent materializations in Chico
Xavier's own house, in Uberaba, a gross and continuous farce in which he so
enthusiastically collaborated, until everything be exposed by the team of
reporters (of the magazine "O Cruzeiro", wide series of reports in the first
months of 1964; and many other subsequent reports, for instance 27-10-1970;
and in other magazines including foreigner ones, for instance, in the magazine
"Creencias Populares", of Argentina, March of 1975; and in newspapers, for
instance a serie of four articles in the Curitiba´s city newspaper “A Gazeta"
etc.)
He would not have trusted so enthusiastically, to the point of designating him

as his successor, in Amauri Xavier Pena, the nephew that exposed him.
Nada tendría de más si Chico Xavier tuviera alguna adivinación, del

pensamiento o realidad, en relación con alguna persona viva, en el presente o
en un pasado o futuro no muy lejos. Como tantas otras personas tienen, o aún
todas alguna vez. Pero Chico Xavier no tenía un mínimo que fuera de control
de la adivinación, ni estaba, contra lo que afirmaba, inspirado continuamente,
ininterrumpidamente, día y noche, especialmente por "Emmánuel" y más otros
500 guías. no habría sido engañado por Otília Diogo en las fraudulentas
materializaciones en la propia casa de Chico Xavier, en Uberaba, farsa grosera
y continua en la que tan entusiasticamente colaboró, hasta ser todo
desenmascarado por el equipo de reporteros (Revista "O Cruzeiro", amplia
serie de reportajes en los primeros meses del año 1964; y otros muchos
reportajes posteriores, por ejemplo 27-10-1970; y en otras revistas inclusive
del extranjero, por ejemplo, en la revista "Creencias Populares", de Argentina,
Marzo de 1975; y en periódicos, por ejemplo serie de cuatro artículos en "A
Gazeta" de Curitiba; etc.)
No habría confiado tan entusiasticamente, al punto de designarlo para su

sucesor, en Amauri Xavier Pena, el sobrino que lo desenmascaró.
He would not have trusted nor allowed that his adoptive "son", the dentist
Eurípides Higino Reis, and his former-wife, Cristine Gertrude Shulz, for long
years have diverted money in great amount, as it denounced by the attorney of
Criminal Investigations Dr. José Carlos Fernandes (from “Veja” magazine of
14-February-01; "Contigo” magazine , February-20- 01; "the newspaper O
Estado de São Paulo", March-31st-01; "Jornal do Brasil", September-21st-01;
etc., etc.)
No habría confiado ni dejado que su "hijo" adoptivo, el dentista Eurípides

Higino dos Reis, y la ex-mujer de este, Cristine Gertrude Shulz, desviaran
dinero en gran cantidad durante años, como denunció el fiscal de
Investigaciones Criminales Dr. José Carlos Fernandes (Revista "Veja" 14-
Febrero-01; "Revista Contigo", 20-Febrero- 01; "O Estado de São Paulo", 31-
Marzo-01; "el periódico Jornal do Brasil", 21- Septiembre-01; etc., etc.)
Among many other examples, the reporter Hamilton Ribeiro would not have
obtained success so easily. By his request, Chico Xavier "psycographed" a
message from the “spirit” of Mr. João Guignone's mother's, President of the
Spiritualistic Federation of Paraná. It happens that it was the reporter's trick,
the "communicant" Mrs. is alive in Curitiba.
Entre muchos otros ejemplos, no habría obtenido tan fácilmente éxito el

reportero Hamilton Ribeiro. A su pedido, Chico Xavier "psicografó" un
mensaje del "espíritu" de la madre del Sr. João Guignone, Presidente de la

Federación Espiritista de Paraná. Acontece que fue artimaña del reportero, la
señora "comunicante" está viva en Curitiba.
The reporter Hamilton Ribeiro continues: "Now I will read the psycographed
prescription of the request that I´ve made today on behalf of Mr. Pedro
Alcântara Rodrigues, Alameda Barão de Limira, nr. 1327, apt. 82, São Paulo (...)
In the unmistakable “psycographed” letter (of Chico Xavier), there it is: 'Close
to the spiritual friends which render her aid, we will look for spiritual
cooperation in her favor. Jesús blesses us' ".
Continúa el reportero Hamilton Ribeiro: "Ahora voy a leer la receta

psicografada del pedido que hice hoy en nombre de Pedro Alcântara
Rodrigues, Alameda Barão de Limeira, 1327, apartado. 82, São Paulo (...) En la
letra inconfundible de la psicografia (de Chico Xavier), allá está: 'Junto de los
amigos espirituales que le prestan auxilio, recogeremos cooperar
espiritualmente en su favor. Jesús nos bendiga'".
What to think of this? Nor the person with that name, and neither that address
exists. I invented them (from the magazine Revista Realidade, November
1971).
"Lo que pensar de eso? Ni la persona con aquel nombre, ni aún esa dirección
existen. Yo los inventé" (Revista "Realidade", Noviembre 1971).
GENERAL CONCLUSION

We ourselves use of the recommendation to the spiritists uttered by the
literary critic João Dornas Filho which, as we have seen, they invoked so
