WELCOME BACK STUDENTS! HOPE YOUR SPRING BREAK WAS AWESOME!


Cyber Cox Cub of the Week: Congratulations to the students in Ms. Melz’s Class, they did our weekly
announcements and were fantastic! Congratulations to the following students for being an awesome Cyber Cox Cub
of the week for last week: Lily Warnick, Jaxson Haycock, Marcus Santos, Giovani Benitez, Ariana Largusa,
Camilla Courtney, Sloane Davis, Isaac Tuivaiti, Olivia Valerrama, Paisley Davis, and Nathan Woodall.

Milers: Awesome job to the following students for putting in their miles last week: Carl and Ryan LoBue have
finished 180 miles! Laya Vinay has completed 171.5 miles! Parents send me the names of your students and their miles
completed so I can celebrate them in our newsletter!

Culturally Inclusive School Survey for DMC: Families, each year, schools in our district give out a parent survey to provide
us with valuable data on the systems and operations of our schools. This survey, the CISA Survey, is given to all staff, 4th and
5th grade students, and parents with questions which are related to CCSD and our school directly. Please take a moment to
complete the survey for us. You can find the survey at the following link and it will be open until April 20th:
https://forms.gle/7hMhkLCUv7up7NQn8 *Your child can receive 5 extra credit points for you completing the survey, just Dojo
a picture of your survey submitted to your child’s teacher and the teacher will credit the 5 points to their lowest core subject
grade.

PTA Meeting: Parents please join us for our monthly PTA meeting on Tuesday, April 13th. It is held virtually over Google
Meets and the code is: https://meet.google.com/ndc-siqy-ysr The meeting begins at 6 pm and usually is less than an hour.
Students can earn 5 extra credit points in Reading for their parent attending the meeting.

GATE Announcments: All students in second grade will participate in an on-line screening for the Gifted and Talented
Education Program (GATE). This screening is administered at school and takes approximately 40 minutes. If you DO NOT
want your child to participate you must stop by the front office and fill out a non-participation form by Friday, April 9th. The
form will also be available tomorrow on our homepage of our school’s website. If you have questions you may contact Mrs.
Cole, the GATE Specialist, at school at 702-799-5730 ext 4140.

Back to School In-Person Reminders:


 Please remember to pack an extra mask in your child’s backpack and masks must be worn at all times.
 Students also need a water bottle (as they are not allowed to access any drinking fountain).
 Teachers will have all the supplies they need please don’t bring extra supplies from home.
 Students are to bring their chrome books to and from school daily unless the teacher requests their chrome books to be
left at school.
 Campus is closed both before and after school.
 2nd and 5th enter and exit through the gate at Sandalwood (basketball courts) / 3rd and 4th enter and exit through the bike
rack gate on Clark / Kindergarten through the front step gate on kinder playground / PK, Self-Contained, and 1st at bus
gate on Robindale. Students may enter through any gate when dropping off a younger sibling.
Getting Ready for 2021-2022
Families: The 2021-2022 student calendar is posted on the CCSD webpage under “calendars.”
DMC Staffing & Parent-Teacher Requests 2021-2022: Each year, our parents are offered the opportunity to request a
teacher for the upcoming year for their student(s). This is only a request and not all requests can be given. Below is a staffing
list will and request letters will be accepted until April 30th to the front office or direct email to me (imbodtr@nv.ccsd.net).
No letters of requests will be accepted after April 30th and if staffing changes are made, a second request will NOT be possible.
All classroom assignments for Cox will be mailed out June 18th along with supply lists. Administration DOES NOT meet
with parents or respond to emails because their request was not granted. ***All grade level teachers can change throughout
the summer.
