 International Sales Rules
The name, emblem, badge or
other insignia of this Organiza-
tion, or of any chartered
Chapter or Conference, shall
not be used by any club
member as a trademark, or for
advertising merchandise or
business. Nor shall any
corporation, group or organization organized by any
Blue Knights® Chapter, or the member(s) or
representative(s) thereof, nor any other individual,
corporation, group or organization use the name,
emblem, badge or other insignia of the Blue Knights
International® Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc
in conjunction with or for the purpose of carrying on
any activity or project of any nature without such
written consent and approval as may be authorized by
appropriate resolution of the International Board of
Directors.

The Blue Knights® International logo and name are
protected under the trademark statutes (patent
#1,165,984). Any item being printed, painted, carved,
etc. containing the BLUE KNIGHTS® name or logo
must each have affixed thereto the circled R.
A) SALES ITEMS
Items for sale must be Chapter or Conference
approved items and approved by the International
before they may be sold outside the chapter. Only
Individual Chapters and Conferences will be autho-
rized sales permits upon proper request. No member
will be issued a sales permit. Exceptions:
• Chapter/Conference Meeting, Event or Convention
shirts
• Chapter/Conference Pins and patches
B) PERMIT PROCEDURE
1. Each Chapter or Conference shall submit to the
International Office a full description, specifications,
color photograph, or actual sample plus production
cost and proposed sale price. All submissions for
sales permits MUST be mailed by regular mail or
email to the International Office Manager at the
International office. All requests for Chapter sales
permits must be signed by the Chapter President or
Vice President. Conference sales permit requests
must be signed by the Chairperson or Vice Chair-
person of the respective conference. Only the Office
Manager will issue sales permits. Sales permits will
by approved by a procedure enacted by the Interna-
tional Board of Directors. Those chapters/confer-
ences that are denied a Sale Permit may appeal this
decision to the entire International Board by submit-
ting a written request to the International Secretary
within 30 days of the denial.
2. Chapters/Conferences with a current sales permit
have exclusive right to that sales item. No permit
shall be issued to sell the same item without written
permission of the Conference/Chapter holding the
current permit.
3. Each chapter or conference submitting an item(s)
for approval for the first time
shall pay an initial fee of $10.00 for a permit (only if
the items are approved) and an annual renewal fee
of $10.00 per year to maintain a current years
permit. Payments must be by chapter/conference
checks of Money orders in US Funds only.
4. In the event the item is withdrawn or no longer
available, immediate notice in writing or e-mail will
be forwarded to the International Office as to
cancellation of such item(s). No sales item can be
duplicated without written permission from the prior
approved permit holder prior to the start of the new
calendar year.
5. All sales permits will expire on April 1st of each
year. All renewal requests for sales permits must be
properly submitted to the International Office by
April 1st of each year to avoid repeating the initial
process, including the initial application fees.
6. Whenever a Chapter or Conference uses the
registered Blue Knights® Logo or Blue Knights®
name on any item, the manufacturer must have on
file a letter from International giving them permission
to reproduce the name and/or logos. This will be
done for each item.
C: SALES RULES
1. Only Blue Knight® members(s) in good standing
may offer approved “sales items” for sale. The
chapter/conference shall not allow an outside
vendor to sell Blue Knight® sales items.
2. All properly issued sales permits (photo copies will
be accepted) must accompany the sales items and
be on display during any sales transaction. (In the
event of telephone, catalog, or internet sales, a
sales permit will be produced upon request). All
permits will clearly list if an item is for sale to the
public by using the words “THIS ITEM APPROVED
FOR SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC”.
3. Sales will be restricted to members in good stand-
ing only with the following exception: The Sales
Committee can approve certain items to be sold to
the general public. Chapters wishing to sell items

outside the organization will
request permission at the time
of application/renewal of the
sales permit. The Sales
Committee will determine
whether the item is appropriate
for sale to the public or
restricted to only current BLUE
KNIGHTS® members in good standing. The Sales
Committee will not issue a permit for the sale of an
item to the general public that is designed to be
worn on the person or attached to a vehicle. The
Committee may make exceptions for items that
clearly state “Supporter of the Blue Knights” or
similar wording. Any other exceptions will require
the approval of the majority of the International
Board of Directors.
PENALTIES
Section 1.08 of the International by-laws: “The
International and its authorized Chapter shall have the
exclusive right to use the name “Blue Knights®
International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc.”
and the words “Blue Knights®”. The corporation shall
retain the exclusive and sole right to use, or allow or
refuse the use of all emblems, seals, badges or other
items incorporating the words “Blue Knights®” or any
of the corporation’s registered trademarks.”
No member, chapter, or other subdivision of the
corporation shall use the corporate name or any of its
marks in any business pursuit or in any other activity
that violates the constitution by-laws, or rules set forth
by the International Board of Directors.
All items, not distinctly marked as chapter or
conference event item offered for sale by any member,
chapter or other subdivision of the corporation bearing
the corporate name, or the name “Blue Knights®” or
any registered mark of the corporation, shall be

submitted and approved by the International Board of
Directors in accordance with guidelines which the
International Board of Directors may adopt. Unautho-
rized use of the corporate name, emblems or marks
shall be cause for fine procedures, removal, or
suspension of the offending members, chapters, or
other subdivision of the corporation in accordance with
Article 10 of the by-laws.
The International board of Directors shall penalize
violators of this section with a letter of warning. Such
letter is to include the date, time, location, identity of
sales person present, and a complete description of
item(s) in violation. A copy of this letter shall be
forwarded to the Chairman and “Secretary of the
conference to which the Chapter belongs.
Any subsequent violation or any failure to remove
the item(s) after receipt of notification of such viola-
tion, in accordance with guidelines which the Interna-

tional Board of Directors may adopt, may be fined for
such a second offense in an amount not to exceed
$100.00, or in the event of any such third or subse-
quent offense, a fine not to exceed $250.00 and/or
suspension or revocation of the violating Chapters
charter. All monies received as a result of such fine(s)
shall be placed in the Special Fund account.
Sales permits may be revoked or suspended at any
level of discipline or at any time deemed appropriate
by the issuing authority.
Also when there is a chapter sales violation, the
President and Secretary of the chapter will be notified.
In the event that a violation occurs with a Conference
sales item a letter will be mailed to the entire Confer-
ence Executive Board. A conference sales item
violation will be treated in the same manner as listed
for a chapter violation in by-law section 1.08.
