Check Valve
Bucket Control
The selector and pressure control valve reduces high-pressure oil from the lift cylinders. This oil is used in the pilot system when
the engine is stopped and when the bucket is raised. The selector and pressure control valve routes the oil to the pilot control
valve via the implement and steering solenoid valve. A raised bucket can be lowered or dumped when the engine is stopped.

During normal operation, pressure oil from the pilot and braking pump is controlled by the pilot oil pressure reducing valve.
Pressure oil from the pilot oil pressure reducing valve enters through inlet passage (1). Pressure oil from the pilot oil pressure
reducing valve also flows to the pilot control valve via the implement and steering solenoid valve.
The oil is blocked at the pilot control valve causing the pilot pump oil pressure to increase. The oil pressure increases in the valve
center. The higher oil pressure moves valve spool (3) to the right against spring (6). Moving the valve spool to the right covers
holes (2). Oil in lift cylinder inlet passage (4) is blocked by valve spool (3) and cannot enter the pilot system.
When the bucket is in the raised position and the engine is stopped, no pilot pump oil is sent to inlet passage (1). Spring (6)
moves valve spool (3) to the left. High-pressure oil from head end of lift cylinders at inlet passage (4) flows through holes (2) in
valve spool (3) to pilot control valve.
When the pressure through passage (1) gets too high, the pressure will cause valve spool (3) to move against the force of spring
(6). The flow of oil decreases through holes (2) in the valve spool and decreases the pressure in passage (1).
:
When the pilot control valve is moved to the LOWER position, pilot oil is sent to move the lift control spool. The lift control spool
directs the oil in the lift cylinder back to the hydraulic tank allowing the bucket to be lowered.
When the pilot control valve is moved to the DUMP position, pilot oil is sent to move the tilt control spool. The tilt control spool
directs the oil in the tilt cylinder back to the hydraulic tank allowing the bucket to be dumped.
A check valve in the line from pilot oil pressure reducing valve stops oil pressure from inlet passage (1) returning to pilot and
braking pump.
