BIAS AND PREJUDICE

GENERAL DIRECTIONS: This Learner’s Activity Sheet will help you learn more
about differentiating biases from prejudices. Follow the instructions given in each
activity.

B Directions: Read carefully each of the following situations below. Tell whether it
is Bias or Prejudice. Write your answer on the blank.

PREJUDICE 1. A basketball coach noticed that one of his rookie players

was unprepared for a professional ball, so he did not
include him in the championship game.

BIAS 2. A man tends to speak more positively about politicians

belonging to a certain party and disagrees with anyone
who supports the opposing political view.

____PREJUDICE_ 3. While at a subway station in a western country,

people seem to avoid a woman who appeared to be
Asian and was wearing a face mask.

BIAS 4. While purchasing wall decorations for her newly

renovated house, the woman disregards
artworks done by local artists.

PREJUDICE 5.As a suspicious man wearing a hoodie came near me, I

asked myself, “Is he going to hurt me?”

C. Directions: Look intently at the following scenarios. Write a short description (3-5
sentences) for each situation on the space provided and identify whether it shows
BIAS or PREJUDICE.

For me it’s literally bias by how the picture looks. We can see at the picture that the boy wins
for me its bias cause the referee also is also a boy and nowadays there’s some issue that boys
are always under girls cause of gender role, Also I can say that this pic bias cause why the boy
in the left only win,for what reason?
Its hard to say but we are all the same we can win by helping each other no matter whats your
gender.
I think it’s prejudice while looking at this picture . For what I am this has 2 reason why the
right person was shock either he fired or he didn’t get the boss’ expectation to get that job, you
know in our system if you did not finish school or you have not good physical appearance to do
the job, I think we must change that system. ACCEPT that applicant to gain experiences, he/she
want to get that job because He/she need it also there’s no reason to get a job by playing time
only.

This is literally a prejudicial specially by judging people by they physical apperance. We all
know that all people had hidden and given talemt that’s why it makes us who we are, Some
people livin their lives judging others while their mindset gettin’ trash day by day. Also even
you have disabilities or doesn’t have enough capability to protect yourself from other people,
show them how it has to be, show them love so that we can change others people mindset also to
fulfill others dream
