Procedures 1. Introduce essential question.

: 2. Ask students what their definition of a skill is, and examples. Students turn-and-
talk, and then ask for responses. Clarify as needed.
3. Ask students why it is important to develop skills. Take responses, and
clarify/provide examples.
4. Introduce Xello career exploration program to students. Assist students with
login and provide brief tutorial of program.
5. Students begin Mission 1: Skills. Counselor will walk students through the
program on Activeboard. Pause throughout for discussion/assisting students.
Continue Mission 1 with students.

 6. When finished, students submit their Mission completion.
7. If extra time, students return to main page to explore Careers via the Career
Tab. In addition, supplemental activities could include Career Venn Diagram
and/or Community Solvers worksheets.
8. Review essential question to check for understanding.
