WORKSHOP ON PEDIATRIC AERODIGESTIVE DISORDERS

Airway and swallowing disorders in neonates and children are common and can lead to
significant morbidity and mortality. Timely therapy and rehabilitation can significantly
improve the outcome in these children. Unfortunately, a large percentage of children in
our communities do not receive comprehensive assessment and therapy resulting in
potentially preventable complications.

This workshop aims to address issues related to aerodigestive problems in children in a

comprehensive and practical manner. The workshop is being conducted by experienced
faculty from the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), Ohio, USA.
The aerodigestive group at the CCHMC is an apex referral center that receives complex
patients from all over the world and has built up a unique experience over the years. The
faculty include:

1. Dr. J Paul Willging, M.D.

2. Dr. Ravindhra G.Elluru, M.D., Ph.D.
3. Dr. Claire Miller, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

The format of the meeting includes lectures on basic science, lecture demonstrations on
the practical approach to these children and video demonstrations of various diagnostic
and therapeutic procedures. The entire gamut of aerodigestive problems in neonates,
infants and children will be addressed systematically.

The workshop will be of benefit to otolaryngologists, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons,

voice and speech therapists and any one caring for children with aerodigestive
problems. The workshop will also provide an excellent opportunity to meet and interact
with experts in the field. Further information will be sent out shortly. The organising
