Highgrove Garden Tour The winner was Sam Tucker and the runner up Tickets are still available for the Highgrove Garden Travis Williams. Tour on Wednesday October 6th. Tickets cost £30 per person and include a 90 minute tour of the gardens of Highgrove followed by afternoon tea supplied by William’s Kitchen. All profits go to District funds. You will need to be at Highgrove at 2.15pm and day will finish at approximately 6pm. A Message from the Chairman of the District Executive Committee, David L’Oste-Brown May I begin by saying how pleased I am that Cotswold Vale District has secured the services of Andy Cole who is proving to be a particularly dynamic and inspiring District Commissioner. Following Andy’s appointment, I was delighted to accept his invitation to take on the role of Chairman of the District Executive Committee and I look forward to my new challenge and to supporting the District in my new role. I am also delighted that Andy has secured the services of his colleague, Deborah Whitfield, as District Secretary. I would particularly like to extend my sincere thanks to my predecessor Ian Hey, for his years in the role as well as to Gerry Bannister for all his many years in many different roles but particularly as our former District Secretary. I am also pleased to be continuing my role as Nights Away Advisor and thank all of you for keeping me informed of these events, particularly since I retired as District Commissioner. Please will all Leaders remember that when planning an activity which involves the young people spending one or more nights away from home, from NAN must be completed. The form should be sent to Andy Cole, District Commissioner and a copy sent to me. If the event takes you out of District and is not on Scout owned premises, the form should also be sent to the Host DC (contact details may be obtained from Gilwell Information Centre). All Sections of 1st Dursley were represented with Leaders dressed up as a ring master, a clown and a lion (or a werewolf Meet ... Lisa Taylor, new Assistant District depending on your point of view!).
