Notes for Faculty:

Ask students to select the organization of their choice and to study their monetary and
non- monetary incentives.

Each student is required to prepare an individual report that will later be presented in
class.

The main purpose of the project is to give them an understanding of the HR practices in
an organization and how an incentive motivates people.

They may also be asked to link different incentive schemes with the theories on which
they are based upon. Such as how an incentive of 2% on all sales made, is a satisfier for
the sales people but an incentive of 5% on any sales above 250 units is a motivator. (Two
factor theory.)

Students may also identify the uniqness of incentives to different departments. Such as, a
one-year further study for the R&D team but a leisure trip with family, to the sales team
etc. (reference Employee incentive programs, chapter 4, case Robotic Engineering Ltd.)
