the environment around us, we continue to employ comprehensive operational
controls, appropriate technology and sustainable maintenance and construction
activities. Stakeholders including PLUS employees and surrounding communities are

5) How PLUS Expressway Berhad encourage the road safety awareness?

 We promoted our programs through various campaigns for instance, the ‘Respect Your
Limits’ campaign was our main focus to spread road safety awareness to drivers and
operators of heavy vehicles. This effort was collaboration with Government agencies –
Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia (JKJR), Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia
(JPJ), Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and the police. Our current road
safety programmes have been beneficial for everyone concerned and evidence of this can
be seen in the drop in accident rates over the years.
6) How PLUS instil CSR values among its employees?
 Every employee at PLUS is aware of his or her own role in engaging in CSR and we actively
encourage our staff to become involved. Each employee must dedicate two working days a

Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and is also used in assessing their individual Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs).

 Impacts on economics
All PLUS community initiatives on road safety, education, cultural support and sponsorship

highways also contribute to transportation convenience in Malaysia that will eventually lead
to balanced regional economic development.

These initiatives are in line with recommendations in the Silver Book guidelines for
Malaysian GLCs. We seek to complement the work of the government and concentrate on
areas directly related to the impact of our business on society. We focus on two areas that
address social issues, eventually contributing to sustainable growth.

• Improving the awareness of Road Safety among the public through education

is incorporated into Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all staff.
