Spinning our way
across six continents
When this incredible journey began, I had brown
hair and a handful of bicycles. I had a handful of
friends, too, and a new way of seeing France. Now,
B&R has many bicycles; we also have ships—plus
access to jets, bush planes, helicopters, trains and
camels (of course). We explore the far-flung corners
of the globe: Iceland, New Zealand, Jordan, South
Africa—wherever we find perfect, unspoiled land-
scapes. Our secret? We keep it simple: it’s all about
the journey, the food and the friends. If you’ve got
those three, you’re in for a great ride. I may be silver-
dappled now, but I’ve never felt more invigorated.
It’s probably got something to do with how much
“quality control” I do. Take, for instance, our recent
Wine Grand Journey. I felt compelled to be there—
to make sure the wine was up to snuff. (It was.)
It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it.

Hope to see you on the road.

Top and bottom left: George Butterfield and the gang on our recent Wine Grand Journey. George, who heads up our quality
control, isn’t sure about the trip. “I think I might have to take it again!” Bottom right: Erik Blachford (in orange) with Bespoke
travellers on a recent trip to Bhutan. Erik, a guide and trip researcher in the ’80s and ’90s, and long-time B&R advisor, recently
joined George, Sidney and Martha as a full partner at B&R. Welcome back Erik!
WHY B&R?

Big, Beautiful Moments

You know what it feels like. Those ineffable
moments of enlightenment that make us

moments
feel alive. Not just is-that-my-alarm-clock alive,
but my-god-I’m-so-lucky-to-be alive. It can
come in a wave of serene bliss—at a perfect
sunset, a oneness with the world, a little instant
of Zen. Or it can be an earth-shattering rush
of adrenaline. But no matter if it comes in a
smile, a summit or a mouthful, when you feel
it, you just know. At B&R, we think life needs
more of those moments. Think of it as an
extra helping of Joy.
WHY B&R?

Tiny, Perfect Details

We liberate you. By taking care of every last
detail you could possibly imagine, from tuning up

your bike each night to surprising you with that
rare vintage, we make it easy to serve up the big
moments. Diving into the Med in that perfect,
secluded cove? “I would have never, ever found
this place on my own” is a refrain we hear often.
We’ve done all the legwork, so you can focus on
soaking up everything around you, and get in
closer touch with your friends, your family, your
partner… and yourself.

B&R Pure B&R

Our art is twofold: making the near-impossible seem effortless (Another perfect moment?
Maybe we’re just lucky?) and always finding ways to impress a pretty tough audience. How
do we do it? We start with these utterly unique and distinctively B&R ingredients:

Once we’ve set the stage, the doors to every place we travel are flung wide open. So you can

you the freedom to truly experience the time and place, without having to worry about any minutia.

We would be remiss if we didn’t describe a day-in-the-life of a B&R trip—but which day to choose?
They are all so different. Here then is one account of a randomly chosen day on a randomly chosen
trip. We hope it gives you a sense of the rhyme and meter of our poetry (in motion).
